I think Dusty left on her own. I'm not sure. Steve got married (South Africa's first TV gay wedding) and moved away with his partner.

How long has Lolly been around, exactly? It seems like quite a while.

Did Len ever actually have relationships with any men, or is this just something which was said?

Now that they have looped back I am reminded of what a strong presence Ashley Callie had. I can't imagine how fans felt when she died.

The only downside of looping back is the incredibly depressing story about Farrow and her brother.

I really like Farrow a lot. I don't understand why the show fired her. She's the perfect soap character.

For some reason, I'd forgotten all about Steve getting married. The last I remember was him and Dusty getting engaged but then they kept postponing it and putting it off. That was all going on while I was on a holiday visiting my family, so I guess the Steve stuff happened after that.

I think Len's relationships were just talked about and implied.

Lolly has been around since at least the late 90s.

Losing Ashley Callie and Leone definitely left a hole in the show. I definitely really hit the show hard.

Did Farrow kill her brother? I vaguely remember that. I agree they should have not gotten rid of her. Her exit was depressing too.

I think she did kill him, yes.

What was her exit? I know she was in some schemes, and she left on a plane, but don't know the rest.

I think they should have kept people like Farrow and Nadipha, instead of clearing them out.

I think the woman who played Maggie quit because of a contract issue.

Yes, she was. Normally that type of character would be unbearable but she somehow manages to be likeable as the ice queen with a heart.

My favorites were Farrow, and Ma Agnes. Agnes is the heart of the show, yet you never forget her anger or pain under all that wisdom. Farrow is the type of damaged quasi-heroine soaps in the US no longer try for.

I would have liked to see more of Farrow. The storyline where Agnes's husband wanted a second wife was hard to watch but I thought it was compelling. Alec's torture was very gruesome. I was shocked that they threatened to rape that man's daughter if he didn't give up the code. I guess they push the limit in South Africa. Too bad the Africa Channel loops episodes because I'd love to see newer eps. Youtube barely has anything.

I don't think I've ever seen the second wife story (I saw when she came back later when their child was dying). I wish I had seen it, as apparently Agnes went insane and tried to poison him.

I liked the short story where she ran for city council, and we saw her praying on what to do.

I also liked Paul. I wonder what story they had planned for him and Maggie's poser niece, as that seemed to be curtailed due to the actor leaving the show.

I would have really liked to see that full story. I used to watch the marathon every Sunday but I got frustrated whenever it would jump to some other point in time. I remember being excited because Cherel was about to announce something on her talk show that would sabotage Barker. Then the next episode was something completely different so I never got to see the rest. Cherel is a hilariously wicked character, like Dorian but without as many layers. I think one of the first stories was Cherel killing Barker's son, Duncan. I would have loved to see that.

    • If you begin where they suggested (#6077), it's VERY easy to follow because it's right at the beginning of a new storyline.   Another story is winding down, but it's fairly easy to catch on. The central characters in both stories (the one that's ending & the one that's beginning) are members of the Madison family.  The Madisons have recently moved from Hollywood to Monticello.  The father (Owen Madison) is an ex-movie producer.  The mother (Nola Patterson Madison) is a washed-up, alcoholic actress who can no longer get a part in a film.  Owen has a daughter named Paige Madison, and Nola has a son named Brian Madison.  The Madison family left Hollywood primarily because the daughter (Paige) had gotten involved with a group of "renegade" young political activists who stole some guns to furnish to South American revolutionaries.  Paige Madison is being targeted for assassination by various members of the group (known as "the Tobias gang").  As a result, Paige has a full-time body guard, a former Monticello policeman who resigned from the police force because he accidentally shot & killed a 14-year-old boy who was armed with a cap pistol.  As the new plot (a movie called "Mansion of the Damned") takes shape,  the existing plot about Paige, the assassins, and the bodyguard comes to a conclusion.  The other characters on the show are all playing supporting roles to these storylines, and it'll be easy to figure out who they are and how they come into play.
    • Anita said to Leslie what I was always going to wonder. Where can a woman like her go from here? Given the circumstances and all.
    • I think she's her daughter but even if she's not, I can see Nicole forgiving her. The Duprees were kinda painting Eva out to be a victim of her deranged mother today with the way Anita was laying it on think on how horrible a mother she was. Even Nicole used language such as Eva being weaponized against them. She's a psychiatrist and can see that this is a clear case of emotional trauma and manipulation. Nicole is in her feelings right now as she should be but I think she will realize that Eva isnt the villian here and is a victim of sorts on her own
    • I do actually. Nicole seems like the forgiving type; plus she is a Psychiatrist. It is probably easy for her to be sympathetic. Absolutely agree.
    • Dana has proven to be beyond unhinged from day one.
    • I'm just guessing, but Eva has to be Nicole's daughter. I don't see Nicole forgiving Eva for her betrayal. Unless she winds up being her daughter.
    • I did not recall how contentious the interview turned out to be until I re-read it.  In retrospect, good on both of them for allowing it to be published, it is remarkable to read this type of honesty in a soap magazine. http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • Today's show was boring, which means it will score high in the ratings.

    • Correct. And she left Eva alone and vulnerable just like she was 20 plus years ago.
    • Leslie feels betrayed by Eva for choosing Ted and Nicole, with her actions at the party calling her crazy and trying to stop Leslie from exposing Ted.
