The episode that aired November 5, 1950 has the label: Meta shoots Ted.

According to GL's 70th anniversary an announcer told the audience to write in what the verdict should be. Did that actually happen??

They had a jury made up of real people, I think.

Wonderful article on "The Right to Happiness."

It all sounds wonderful . I do wonder how the transition from Bill / Carolyn to Dwight / Carolyn played out. I get very different views of both Bill Walker and Dwight Kramer from what I had intiially assumed

I know Richard Campbell, a doctor love interest of Carolyn's, was a juror in the trial. I guess he hadn't been introduced in the story yt by the tim the article was printed.

Aside from Guiding Light, Right to Happiness is my fave of the radio soaps I've listened to more than 20 episodes of. Though a spin off, I believe Irna passed ver the headwriting reigns to Happiness pretty early on. Of course it was one of the last four remaining radio soaps--I wonder whyt hey never tried it on tv.

I thought Painted Dreams was the first....

There's much debate, really about the true first. It depends on what you call a soap, and other semantics but they were all around the same time.

What was the difference between Painted Dreams and the one they claim as the first??

Is "Right to Happiness" one of the radio soaps that are almost intact completely?

I just love these articles Carl. The stories on the actors and their lives in 1950's NY always fascinates me. I don't always comment as I should but I read and savour every word!

Thanks. I have a number of these and never post them because I'm never sure if anyone is interested in radio soaps beyond the core one or two (like Right to Happiness). I decided to go ahead and post a few, in case an asteroid hits tomorrow, or whatever. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
