GH: Possible Cast Cuts Looming?

They do use him. As long as he's on the show, he gets story, airtime and is utilized. Im sure its difficult to write around him considering he leaves every few months. That kills any long term planning. How many times can they write him out for an extended vacation and keep it original? The reasons get more ridiculous each time. Geary doesnt give them much room to work with and he's fine with that bc he has a great deal. He gets paid a high paycheck without having to work much and he gets crazy amount of vacation time. The character of Luke is a joke and its partly the writers fault and partly Gearys. The character simply doesnt fit in well with todays GH and hasnt for a while. I say they just cut their losses on him. He's someone that could and should be dropped to recurring.

Tony Geary will leave when Tony Geary decides to, and not one moment before. Regardless of the opinions of whether he has anything left to give on this show, he's still representative of the power GH has in the minds of the public in general. While I have no doubt the show will go on without him, it will be a very different beast indeed when that comes to pass.

The problem is not Luke, the problem is not letting Tracy and LuNacy be all they can be. They are the senior couple on the show in both it's meanings, and should be written as such. Together they can cause a whole lot of chaos and be just as relevant as they ever were. They have their fingers in every single pie in town, every pairing, every economic venture and every family. Most of what Guza does I can enjoy, but I'm more than ticked that he's allowed this fabulous couple to slide into wash-rince-repeat.

As for who's leaving, more spoilers say we would be surprised. I'm kinda hoping that Monica/LC being reduced is a cue that SBu and KeMo have decided to ride off into the sunset after a JaSam wedding in November (assuming something like that is happening). Jason has nowhere else to go as it is, and Sam has been reduced to almost complete nothingness. It would be good to loose the air-hogs-who-do-nothing. SBu has been making rumblings about that for some time.
