Flatt is just one of the 2010 Winter Olympic figure skating stars who will light up Sun Valley Outdoor Ice Rink during the 74th annual Sun Valley Ice Show season—11 shows starting June 26 through Sept. 4. Another big show is July 24 with two headliners—six-time Canadian ladies figure skating queen Joannie Rochette and three-time U.S. men's king Johnny Weir, the flamboyant world bronze medalist. Olympic skating viewers will remember Olympic bronze medalist Rochette, 24, as the Montreal-born skater who tugged the heartstrings of the Vancouver audience because of the sudden death of her mother just prior to the Olympics. This year's ice show is full of Olympic ice skating heroes. Reigning Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek headlines the Aug. 14 show. The last two American Olympic ice dancing silver medalists are on board—Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto (2006 Torino) Aug. 7 and Meryl Davis and Charlie White (2010 Vancouver) on Aug. 21. Olympic gold medalists Viktor Petrenko (July 17) and Brian Boitano (Aug. 28) are due to perform, along with popular U.S. women Alissa Czisny (Aug. 7) and Sasha Cohen (July 31 and Sept 4). Each Sun Valley Ice Show from June 26 through Sept. 4 starts at dusk and lasts about 70 minutes. Sun Valley Resort is resuming its dinner buffet service for $98 adult/child and also has a $62 Sun Room Terrace show-only reserved ticket. This year's bleacher reserved seating ranges from $32 to $58. All tickets will be priced $5 higher for one show and one show only, July 3. Nonrefundable tickets are now on sale at the Sun Valley Recreation Office, 622-2135. Tickets also may be purchased online at seats.sunvalley.com. In addition, people can buy tickets at the gate before the shows.
