December 1, 200916 yr Member I prefer Twenty-Ten, but it will be hard to stop saying Two Thousand and "x" Also, what are we going to call this decade? The "oughts" the "oughties" ? I guess I will find out in about 30 days. What do you guys think?
December 1, 200916 yr Member I will be saying two thousand and ten. Some people call 2009 twenty oh nine.
December 5, 200916 yr Member I prefer to say twenty-ten. Its easier and coincides with the 19's such as 1950, 1968, 1996, etc.
December 30, 200916 yr Member I think that I will be using both for a while. Twenty Ten is a lot easier to day than Two Thousand & Ten, and after all we didn't call 1999 One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine, we called it Nineteen Ninety Nine etc.
December 31, 200916 yr Author Member 2010 will be the first year that pronouncing the 2-0 as "twenty" and allowing it to make sense. The numbers twenty and ten are both used in every day english. "0"-"9", "0"-"8".. what have you... are not commonly used. We could have said Twenty-Nine, but that would be 29 and not 2009. I believe Twenty-Ten will become the standard. In the conversations and previews about the film 2012, I almost exclusively heard it pronounced Twenty-Twelve.
