Dallas: Who Reshot J. R.?

Even Melrose and 90210 were dumbed down and those shows aren't that hard to get. Dallas (or Knots or even good season 1-2, 9 Dynasty) are too complicated for current tv. Nobody wants to wait for story arcs to play out or to develop characters. It would be a watered down poorly written show I'm sure people would say is decent. Like they're saying about that unwatchable Melrose remake.

In a way, I totally agree (except for the "good season 1-2, 9 Dynasty" part...I'm almost done with S3 and it is FAB and by far my favorite so far, and I'm looking forward to the typical Dynasty BSC-ness of S4 and S5). The basic cable element is a little iffy for me...what I'm basically seeing is Mad Men set in the present day, in the oil industry, in Texas, and that is so far from what Dallas was. That's precisely my issue with 90210.2 and nuMP. I don't want/need exact carbon copies of the originals...but if you're going to be using these titles, characters, and settings, you have to have the spirit of the original, the tone, and the overall feel, and 90210.2/nuMP do not.

OMG this could work if done right. Have jr and sue ellen play the roles as Ms. Ellie and Jock(I know thats a stretch.lol) and then have christopher and john ross be the new bobby/jr. John ross can marry cliff's daughter and move into the southfork. I think if they hire good actors/actresses this could be a good show.
