January 29, 201214 yr Member It looks like Maureen Garrett has a new photo up on IMDB, I wonder if she's looking for work again (though I know she's done some regional theater over the past couple of years). http://www.imdb.com/...85472/nm0308171 Edited January 29, 201214 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
January 29, 201214 yr Member I've seen the 1961 and 1963 episodes, too bad the 1979 one isn't available elsewhere. I'd love to see Maureen on my TV again. You'd think all these "edgy" new cable shows on HBO or FX would snap her up.
January 29, 201214 yr Member The full version of the 1994 Christmas episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIHaJi0fo-8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94ua_X2V9kw&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
January 29, 201214 yr Member The show was in shambles by late 1994 with JFP's ego running rampant. But even here, you could see that the potential was still there for a great show should the right creative forces have found it. Too bad it never happened after this. January 29, 201214 yr Member I mostly like those small little moments which were missing later on, like the bonding between Levy and Cutter. That's something which they left behind when they had Frank, and then Harley and finally Gus, as the cops. That Roger/Holly scene was so powerful. I had almost forgotten what strength they had as acting partners. I have a 1996 Maureen Garrett interview I'll put up.
January 29, 201214 yr Member So many soaps have tried to have their own Roger/Holly, but its never worked Something was unique about those two, and one dynamic that was never ever replicated on soaps again. It was partly the actors and the writing, but there was just a very unique spark between those characters. I could watch them do anything. I can't wait for the Mo Garrett interview. Other than that boring pairing with Fletcher, I can't remember what Holly did in 1996, which was a terrible year for the show.
January 29, 201214 yr Member Thanks for posting. She's very candid here about her lack of screentime and the handling of the Meg story, which I don't blame her for. I remember her joking about Nursery Rhyme Stalker storyline a few years later, which she rightfully hated.
January 29, 201214 yr Member I don't think she had anything to do for the rest of 1996 either, aside from counseling Vivian. I wonder what the story with Roger would have been if Zaslow hadn't become ill. Knowing Rauch, probably not much.
January 30, 201214 yr Member When was the last time Meg was mentioned onscreen? Where was she supposed to be when Holly was on the show in the early 2000s -- off with Fletcher?
January 30, 201214 yr Member Fletcher took Meg and fled town in early 1998. Around 1999 or so they briefly had him come back with Meg, when Holly had a breakdown. For whatever reason, that was dropped, and he left again. I'm not sure Meg was ever mentioned again.
January 30, 201214 yr Member Wow, that's... not entirely surprising, but awful. Having a child with Down's Syndrome should have defined so much of Holly's drive through the late 90s and 2000s.
