    • Dani and Doug. The thought never crossed my mind.
    • I'm with you on this. I see the retcons and inconsistencies. This story has been strong enough to allow me to get past those. A lot of people here seem angry about/disgusted with the retcons, and I can't tell others how to feel. I admit I am surprised at the amount of negativity here, because I think the show has been firing on all cylinders     But doesn't this happen to most soap characters -- a return to the back burner? In what universe is Lois a character who's always front burner? There's no story left for Gio after this initial shock wears off? Then what's your alternative where Gio has a story and then there's a lot of story left to tell? As far as GM being a Cam replacement, I'm glad they didn't go that way. There is no evidence Cam was going to be front-and-center. None.

She's crying and she's getting drunk. Everytime she thinks she's putting Hayley in her place, she is the one that ends up losing and setting herself back YES! Dani is a loser
    • +1 for Hayley, she got Dani deep in her feelings. Love to see it!
    • The Miracle of Versavix causes me to break my promise not to talk about it…  Today, we learned that Versavix doesn’t just treat sepsis—it reverses organ damage. Remarkable. Somewhere, fake-Dr. Joe Scanlon from Port Charles is owed a Nobel Prize. And meanwhile, Brady continues to fumble the bag, somehow failing to recognize the enormous financial and medical potential of a drug being administered to his own uncle. Classic Brady. Consistency has been off recently I blame my confusion on their taping out of order.  Jada has seen Shawn today.  In the square, they saw each other in an epsisode last week, and spoke about Bo.  So, why is she asking Belle if he is sick?  Much like when Marlena made peace with EJ last Tuesday, and then snarled at him on Friday.  Meanwhile… There’s a Meth Lab on the Docks? The ongoing fixation on Philip’s recent scuffle—an incident that poses no broader public danger—is bizarre when you consider there's an actual meth lab operating on the docks. You’d think that would be the more pressing law enforcement priority. But this is Salem. Nu-Rachel: A Star is Scheming I have to admit, I like nu-Rachel. The previous actress skewed a bit too Wednesday Addams—brooding, but not calculating. This Rachel is clearly playing the long con. During a tea party, she casually dropped the Johnny adoption bombshell, and now she’s planting seeds of doubt about his character. She’s manipulating Kristen with finesse, all while hiding behind her frilly dresses and conveniently timed tummy aches. It's not easy for a young actor to play a convincing liar, but this one is pulling it off. That said, after mentioning John just yesterday, it’s strange that Kristen hasn’t visited him—especially considering the hospital is within walking distance. I suspect this has less to do with realism and more with the show avoiding flashbacks of John and Kristen.  Corporate Confusion: Salem-Style Speaking of odd choices, why is Alex operating out of an actual office while Xander, the CEO, runs his empire from a barstool with a cell phone? Salem business logic strikes again. Julie, Maggie, and the Case of the Vanishing Money It is nice to see Julie back doing hospital board work. That tracks, especially given her long history with the hospital, dating back to when Vivian Alamain first made a sizable donation upon arriving in Salem. But are we really pretending Maggie doesn’t have the means to buy the hospital outright? Between the Kiriakis fortune and her own assets—not to mention the mansion she could easily leverage—Maggie could outbid just about anyone in town. Let’s not forget: she married Victor, a man who funded an entire wing.
    • Ya know, I was just wondering the other day if they dropped the 'Is Dani an alcoholic' storyline... but nope! Haha
    • I think there is story but it's not story I think the current regime would do. I could easily see Brook Lyn fall in love with Dante and blow up her own life for a past she can't recreate, which would cause a lot of mess for Dante (and turbocharge her rivalry with Lulu). As has been mentioned before by @Vee I think I could see Gio playing the field for a while (as a slow burn if they are going to have this Gio/Emma pairing), or for the money and power go to Gio's head, badly (recreating AJ's steps in some way - maybe Jason stepping in to save him to help justify his presence). If they wanted to, they could even use Gio's presence for a more severe Dante/Sonny break, as he wouldn't want his son tied to the mob and would probably be an obsessive parent due to all the time he missed. Then there's Dante and Rocco, who could have a lot of story rebelling or withdrawing after Sam's death, Lulu's coma and return and Charlotte obsession, the arrival of a "perfect" son for Dante, etc. They could have his closeness to Tracy lead to a return of a resentful Dillon if he learns Tracy is leaving Gio a lot of her estate. I am not sure Mazza is the best actor for heavy material, but the roads are there. It's just not something I see the show wanting to do...but if they want to I do think there's a good amount of story potential in place.
    • God, can Willow be this stupid?
    • He can after...  I get why they went to Mona first; she's family and is more familiar with Leslie. Either way would've been ok.
    • Why doesn't Jacob question the head nurse Shanice himself?
