SOAP OPERA MYSTERY HOUR: This week's hottest blind item

—Which west coast superstar is being asked to take recurring status? You'll be shocked to find out who it is!

Doug Davidson?

Most likely Susan Flannery. Bell seems to be easing her out and she has talked about retirement.

That wouldn't be surprising though would it? I guess Anthony Geary or Maurice Bernard.

Gordon Thomson is joining DAYS?! So now I have to tune in to that wreck of a show now...I'm almost half-way through season 3 of Dynasty and I am absolutely in love with Adam Carrington.

He got the part about the gay character on Another World wrong. It wasn't Dennis Carrington that LeMay wanted to make gay, but Michael Randolph. He was to return from college and announce to his family that he's gay. Outlines were written and apparently all TPTB signed off on it until P&G got cold feet at the last minute. He was right about that part.

Brian Bodine back at AMC? Why? He was definitely very cute back in the day, and he and Ripa had great chemistry. However, his return circa 1996 was a complete bust. I believe Felicia Behr asked him back for a limited run to cause some trouble for Hayley/Mateo, but Behr was canned right afterward and replaced with Francesca James, so maybe the intent of the story got lost in the shuffle. His only real ties to the canvass were through the Dillons, Myrtle, and Adam, so I wouldn't see the point of bringing him back.

Branco claims that it isn't GH.

MTS would be more shocking than CLB so maybe it is her. Y&R got rid of Don Diamont, played hardball with Jess Walton and are not using Tracy Bergman so it does seem like they are trying to cut the budget.

I'm not sure Doug Davidson is considered a huge superstar, at least by Nelson's standards. I don't see it being MTS. I think she and EB are viewed as the centerpiece of Y&R. Plus, if MTS goes, then Davidson would surely go next, and I don't see them getting rid of 2 vets, right on the heels of Diamant's firing. LeBlanc is a possibility. He's on a lot but hasn't had his own story in ages. They played hardball with Jess, so this wouldn't be surprising.

Why would he ask her though? She's been talking about retirement forever, why would he want to push her (of all people) out of the door? Brad knows that she's the show. Y&R and others have many big names and can compensate better.
