Yesterday was actually a pretty good episode. Last week was a snoozefest though - too much Sami and her overacting.

I thought yesterday was super boring.

Sami really does bring the drama. I love her. I love her and rafes slow burning romance too.

I really am enjoying Philip/Stephanie.

I cant wait for everything to blow up in Nicoles face.

Also, It would have been really funny if Stephanie brought up when she and EJ were both race car drivers! LOL.

I thought yesterday was super boring.

I thought that of Monday and most of last week because it was so Sami heavy for me. I like Rafe and can buy Safe, but Sami is the weak link there.

I used to love Sami and Ali Sweeney back in the day (well love to hate would be a better description) but lately I can't stomach the writing for Sami or Ali Sweeney's OTT acting. The problem with the writing is that they are trying to make Sami a herione in the same vane as her mother and thats not working. Mainly because that isn't what Sami is about.

I really am enjoying Philip/Stephanie.

I cant wait for everything to blow up in Nicoles face.

I agree with all of that though. I am beginning to like Melanie finally, so I hope they dont do a triangle between Phil/Steph and her. There's more than enough angst to go around for Phil & Steph just from the Kiriakis/DiMera fued.

I hope Nicole gets caught too, but I also hopes she rises again. She's great. I'm not tired of the story yet (although I know some people are) but I reckon the entire switch must be resolved by the end of summer? So far, I feel the story is following a natural progression and playing all the right beats so its working for me.

Oh yeah, it was silly that they forgot it, but the whole race car driving thing was dumb and unbelievable to begin with, so not to upset they forgot that lol. But the way Steph and EJ spoke to each other, it was clear that they know each other fairly well.

Now that you mention it, what the hell was that DAYS racecar driver obsession all about a few years ago? They had redhead Steph, EJ, Max, and then I remember when Shawn was missing Belle got some racecar drivers to help out in a public appeal or something like that? I had totally forgotten about that (or blocked it out, to be more specific).

I have no idea what it was about - I don't think the writers did either tbh other than a way to link EJ and Stephanie to each other when they introduced Steph onto the canvas (played by Shayna Rose back then). I think it was another "genius" idea of Hogan Sheffer to bring on this young, independent, strong, unconventional lady as Steve & kayla's daughter (even Rose was unconventional looking for Days - she looked more like a CBS actress). Then in 1 month Sheffer flip-flopped and had her sobbing all day long while her parents were in intensive care from the gas poisoning. And then they had ACTION! by having EJ sabotage her car (or was it Max's car?) I don't remember. Like you said, blocked it out :P

That was all the last months of Reilly/Milstein. Sheffer came in at the very end of it, wrote the Stephanie accident, and got rid of the racing altogether.

Yeah, I thought redheadSteph was a Reilly creation. Then Sheffer brought her back when Steve had some accident or something? I remember being distracted throughout Hennig's first scenes because she was doing this big emotional thing but wearing a teeny denim skirt and cream top that looked like something she'd have borrowed from Britney circa 2003, and gaudy gold jewellery as well.

Thanks for the correction, I get blurry on that history stuff lol.

Millstein's first week involved Steve and Kayla seeing each other at the church for the first time in June 2006, and Stephanie debuted on 4th July. Milstein rewrote a lot of what JER planned (like Della, Steve's wife/gf from before we were meant to forget about) so its hard to say who was responsible for the race car driver angle - JER or Milstein. But you are right, it wasn't Sheffer. Sorry for that.

Yeah, we can blame Sheffer for a lot of bad, but not that.

Hmmm.....I think there some interference in Kate's story. She blurts out that she knows about the affair to Daniel in one episode and then in the next, she tells Chloe? WTF. That didn't seem like the direction the story was heading. There was actually some flow into this story and now it comes to a halt? Yeah...something doesn't feel right. Corday I bet. <_<

Perhaps but I wouldn't be so sure of that. I mean, she promised to stop her murder Chloe plot if Philip survived and he did so, if it was changed, they at least made it stem from within what was going on and didn't make it some random, out of the blue type thing. After stopping her plan, she decided to just tell them both about it since she was no longer going after them.

If this was not the plan, I think they dropped it because some were upset about Kate plotting to murder Chloe. That was a bit extreme and it would've wrote her into a major corner, much like she was in 2001 before her fall from grace sort of saved her.

I think it's better off this way to begin with. The whole Lucas/Chloe/Daniel/Kate thing is so isolated. I wish they would tie it into the feud story or to some other story because everything else seems to intersect. Plus, the whole thing with Daniel and Chloe's affair was something that was clearly not intended. I still believe it was designed as a vehicle to write out both Daniel and Chloe since SC's contract was up but they developed a fan following so the show kept them and changed the story. That is why this story has not been as consistent since the start of the year as it would've been had it been the plan all along to tell the story the way it ended up.

At any event, I prefer this direction because I think the consequences will be better without risking taking Kate too far. So, if there was interference, it was the good kind IMO.
