I agree, it's a noble concept but it's not going to happen. at the end of the day, unlike the other returns, they will most likely just view Olivia as another black character. They won't look into her past and mine for the stuff the fans responded to in the way they brought back Nina, Mac, etc...they probably do just think of her as "a mother", and think the fans are just happy to see her back!

I don't agree that Ana and Tyra are the worst thing to happen to the show. It never fails, but anytime a AA character graces the screen, people want to see "their" AA character take form, and begin disputing the writing. There's nothing wrong with Tyra- at least no glaring difference in comparison to some of the other no talent people learning to act on these shows. But since there are so few AA characters, fans tend to analyze these characters to no end and find themselves fighting over scraps.

As for Devon- he bores me! But then I think, in the last few years the guy gets NOTHING! How is he supposed to grow as an actor. How is he supposed to develop when his scenes are in support to family once a month. AA actors have no room to grow on these shows which used to be training grounds for young actors.

Unlike other AA returns to soaps, she is the most vocally positive about her experience, and that's a good thing. She seems pretty passionate about her film festival and I think that's the most appropriate for these actors. DO your soap, but be sure to have other projects that bring forth challenges. I'm pretty sure it helps keep her time on the show that much more enjoyable. I don't think she's someone who should be surrendering her schedule.

That's all Lily is good for dating. Where is her goals? They are limiting Lily potential by doing this. That's why Nobody believes in Lame love. But Lily lame fans will be pushing everybody she acts opposite with. Believe me there going to be a Lily & Philip group soon.

I don't see nothing changing when it comes to black characters. If they kept Trya I can see another square storyline for Olivia, Tyra, Niel, & Gil. Where their storyline don't effect nobody else but them. Even Lily storyline don't effect them. & she suppose ot be apart of the family.

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
