Guiding Light and Saturday Night Live

It's when they make those performers and their characters seem more important than they were that ticks me off, especially when it means ignoring the people who *really* made an impact. Calista Flockhart was little more than a day-player, yet articles act like she was on contract or something. See this.

It's like...why mention these people instead of the people who gave/have given 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, or more years of service to the show?

Yup. It's like saying Brad Pitt got his start on AW. HELLO! He was on one Goddamn day with two f-u-c-k-i-n-g lines!!!!!

Or one that really pisses me off is Taye Diggs. He played Sugar Hill for like a nano-second, yet he's lumped in because he is now famous. Please!

Exactly!

My dream is for someone to say "Hey, Calista, so you got your start on Guiding Light. How was that?" And then Cal says "Wait...I was on Guiding Light? When was this?"

To neatly get back on topic...it's like celebrating the whole of SNL by just showing a montage of musical guests.
