February 9, 200916 yr Member http://daytimeconfidential.com/feature/int...ath-by-pancakes She discusses Dixie's infamous death by pancakes among other things. I love her candor.
February 9, 200916 yr Member DJ: Four words: "peanut butter banana pancakes". Response? CM: Lazy. A lazy, malicious choice by a pissed off writer. Cady rocks.
February 9, 200916 yr Member This has become one of those defining moments of the genre. Luke & Laura and the Search for the Left Handed Boy, Karen Wolek on the Witness Stand, Marlena Possessed by the Devil, Clone Reva... Death by Pancakes... Loved this, though: "I told the writer I thought it was a mistake to make Tad a torturer and I thought that at least Tad and Dixie should have a sit down with the kids to say "you know what dad did was wrong, don't you?". I didn't realize she wasn't open to my opinion. I also wanted Dixie to be strong and not such a victim and I think that annoyed her. Hey, I get it was her show and Julie's show, but I just couldn't live with the "torture is okay because Tad was trying to save his kid" thing, and we had two weeks of grisly, buried alive in his own poop TORTURE of Dr. Madden. Torture is NEVER okay, NEVER cool, NEVER funny, NEVER acceptable." Edited February 9, 200916 yr by R Sinclair
February 9, 200916 yr Member How interesting that Dixie/Cady was one of Megan's all time favorites. It just goes to show what a MASSIVE ego the woman has if she cannot take criticism for her work, and has to act out and be so vengeful about it. Oh well, at least I can take some comfort in the fact that the terrible Satin Slayer SL is what eventually did that petty bitch in... Edited February 9, 200916 yr by Kubla Khan
February 9, 200916 yr Member Aww I love me some Cady McClain. I officially blame Megan McT for Dixie most likely never coming back to AMC again. If it weren't for the horrible treatment of Brooke/Julia Barr (which was one thing Cady spoke out about)...and the Tad being a torturer...and just being a bitch to her it sounds like....then Dixie would still be alive! haha
February 9, 200916 yr Member I love that interview. It's right up there with Victoria Rowell's in my book. I love when the people who've earned their scars in the business drop the sugar and put some folks on blast. And I love the fact that she's going back to school to finish her degree. Go Cady! I also love how professional Cady is, while she's blasting them. It didn't sound bitter or spiteful - she just said "Look - this is what I said, this is how they misinterpreted it, and this was their obvious reaction and retaliation". But she didn't stoop to hurling insults or belittling them, the way she/Dixie were belittled at the end. Love that woman.

February 9, 200916 yr Member From now on 'round these parts, we will not speak of Megan. We will speak of "the writer."
February 9, 200916 yr Member Yes, because all the other names "McTravesty" or "McTrash" or even the dreaded "hack" are still too descriptive. But "the writer" is generic, bland, totally nondescript and arouses absolutely no emotion of any kind. The best way to acknowledge "the writer's" horrid contribution to daytime is to simply not acknowledge her at all. Cady's a genius for that! LOL!
