January 30, 200917 yr Member I think I might be having Java problems... I'm dealing with a clever Trojan as we speak that ... among other things ... affects Java. Time for a virus scan!
January 30, 200917 yr Author Member I'm dealing with a clever Trojan as we speak that ... among other things ... affects Java.<br /><br />Time for a virus scan!<br /> I've scanned with - guess how many - 5 of the top-notch anti-virus programs! This is driving me insane! Which Trojan was it for you?
February 3, 200917 yr Author Member I have downloaded the latest Java, out today or yesterday, and it still doesn't work. Only on this IPB things don't function properly. No help?

February 8, 200917 yr Author Member I used them all: IE, Firefox, Opera... They all show some kind of an error in the HTML code which says that e.g. open/close fast reply is undefined.

If you created another USERID, would this also happen for that one? Have you run a cleaner, like CCleaner (free, great), just to clear out EVERYTHING cookie/history/etc. related? Sorry to be suggesting stuff you have probably tried. But this seems to be Sylph-specific, since no one else is apparently having these problems...so it seems to be a local issue related to you.
February 8, 200917 yr Author Member No, I haven't tried this. When I put a cursor on Fast Reply, the status bar shows: java script:ShowHide('qr_open';'qr_closed'); And Web Developer Toolbar shows that there are errors on the page.
February 8, 200917 yr Member Have you tried doing the things listed on the page below? http://support.microsoft.com/gp/noscript Javascript is different from Java. I asked what browser you used because when I was using the NoScript extension with Firefox I had the same problems.
February 8, 200917 yr Author Member Thank you, Rhiannon, for trying to help! I haven't checked the listing before, but now that I did — all JavaScripts are turned on. The thing I just don't get is that it's only this Invision Power Board I have a problem with. And weirdly with all browsers I tried. NoScript is a Firefox add-on?
February 8, 200917 yr Member Yes there's a NoScript add on for FF and it's supposed to help with making browsing more secure and faster or something, I had to quit using it because it did things like making boards hard to use and etc. I wish I knew of something that could help.

Do you perhaps know a support forum that deals with these issues? This is just mind-boggling and infuriating at the same time! And is there a way to "re-install" JavaScript? This is probably a dumb question.

I have these forums bookmarked and have used them for spyware help, they also help with other computer problems too.
