Hear me out here,

Love her or hate her, the character of Melanie is not an unpopular one with the general public. Although I catch DAYS infrequently, my wife is a devoted DAYS viewer and she said the other day that she thinks Melanie is basically the same way Sami was in the early 90s, self deluded, self destructive and self absorbed. I have to say, when I saw Melanie I saw what my wife was talking about, she's compulsively watchable because you just *know* she's going to botch up and is out of her depth.

Whether or not this is intentional is anyone's guess...but with the assassination of Sami in the early 2000s as she became a 'heroine' rather than a tarty villainess, DAYS was lacking a young vamp.

Anyone else see it?

Oh ya...no disagreements on Burnett's acting ability. She's a step above Charity Rhamer, but that's not saying much.

But the characterization, the actual template of the character. I see Sami 2.0

She is not the best actress in the world, but I enjoy her line delivery, and think that Melanie is an entertaining, needed character.
