I finally saw this this morning at 8 am (Soapnet!). Amazing. I mean, there is so much I loved:

- Blair acknowledging her loathing of Todd and sympathy for Marty

- Brody and Jessica = pure chemistry

- but mostly, Viki.

For me, what the episode did was tie such an amazing bow around multiple stories...and it REALLY showed the intergenerational toxicity of sexual abuse:

"Me, Jessica, Tina and Todd..."

Yes, of course, Everything we are seeing is Victor Lord's legacy. I knew that, but I didn't remember it. It gave it a deeper resonance for me.

I know it doesn't really matter, but what I was trying to explain is that this idea of Victor having a family mausoleum on the Llanfair property is a new rewrite. They were buried at a cemetery on church grounds, and Victor was in the ground. The crypt didn't come until he was exhumed (pillow fibers in his lungs) and of course there's that scene where Dorian tried to pour lye on his remains. They showed a bit of it in that 50 Years of Soaps special: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgEV623pRC0 at 5:26

Wow what a truly amazing week we had.

Tina's good bye was flawless. It just shows just how mucht he show wanted to keep tina around this time. Until next time Tina Lord Roberts!

I actually found Justis Bolding pretty good this week. In Wednesday's episode where Sarah found Vanessa and Cristian in an embrace I loved how catty JB's Sarah was. I kept thinking about how much of a pariah Sarah was when she first came back to town. Does anybody else remember? Sarah and bf had been keeping (Todd?) in their apartment when Cristian and Blair came upon them. Everybody in Llanview acted all shocked about the 360 Sarah did from being nice and sweet, blah, blah, and into a shallow girl who wanted to live off her grandfather's money. I kinda miss that Sarah.

Viki's scenes in the tomb were epic. I loved how Viki and Charlie's history played in those scenes. Each one made a point of not knowing one another's past when they first met. Even now, after all that's happened between them, Charlie didn't know Viki's messed up relationship with her father.

It's gonna take some getting used to with the Bonjour cafe now in Llanview.

As always, loved Erika Slezak on Wed's show. In addition to the 1976/2003 discrepancy surrounding Victor's death, did anyone else notice that the actual plaque was on the south side of the coffin? Just the day before when Tina said goodbye, the plaque was on the other side of the coffin. And I think when Dorian tried to pour lye into the coffin back in 1993/1994, the coffin was horizontal instead of vertical. Anyway, these small nits aside, Erika Slezak astounded me. Here's hoping for a 7th Emmy next year.

After rewatching Wednesday's show, I believe that Haskell and Slezak are both going to win the emmy's next year.

Even though in my heart I would love to see Melody Thomas Scott or Jeanne Cooper win-especially Melody, if Erika is nominated, with a show like this- the emmy is hers to lose.

and I stand by that Susan gave the BEST performances by any daytime actress this entire year.

It looks like Ron Carlivati may be in a serious upswing here and I am going to enjoy it as long as it lasts.

    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.

    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!
