You don't think has passion for writing? He WRITES and directs all of his projects. If you go to his site, you'll see that: http://www.sriandcompany.com/Main1280.html

I know that. The problem is... That same writing lacks any sort of conviction or passion. He's like a talented, kind of promising high school student who got to write his own show. Something like that. And it clearly doesn't go that way.

Sigh. I wish I understood these declarative statements.

The majority of people who saw Night Shift thought it was good, and an improvement over the daytime program.

I do not know the ratings...I'm hoping they were okay (for a cable network, and for Soapnet's average).

So, given that, why would we diminish Rao and say he is like a trainee? Why would we diminish the many viewers who have enjoyed his work, here and elsewhere, telling them they are rooting for something like a "high school student"?

Sylph likes to write with declaratiove statements--it's part of his charm ;)

I watched the first ep of his teen drama I posted and yeah, it's not bad actually. Where I agree with Sylph is I feel it's silly for soap fans and that includes Nelson, to suddenly want him to write for daytime when he himself seems to think the job would be too difficult for him...

Well, I can't help you. :P

I am by no means saying it was bad. It wasn't. It just lacked power & coherence. It wasn't great. It wasn't Earth-shattering. If I want the type of thing I got from NS, there's plenty of it in daytime.

So, given that, why would we diminish Rao and say he is like a trainee? Why would we diminish the many viewers who have enjoyed his work, here and elsewhere, telling them they are rooting for something like a "high school student"?

No one is diminishing his work. I said he was a great guy that should stick to producing, finding material, finding great young writers etc. The thing just felt like a very good essay that a creative writing teacher would rip apart in your first CW class. OK?

Well, he's proven his "passion" for writing and for GH by writing Night Shift. If he didn't have any passion for writing, he would just be directing or producing.

Sigh. I wish I understood these declarative statements.

I don't understand them either.

Since the title of the interview is who wants to clone Sri Rao, I would like to say that I would totally like to clone him and bring him over to the mothership
