Members EricaKane70
I'm just as shocked as the rest of you guys that AT has been with this show for 6 years and has gotten worst in the acting department.imo I only want an annie/aiden pairing if they end up leaving the town together never to be seen or heard from again. Members Adam
Pratt would ruin his progress on Annie by saddling her down with a block of wood i.e Aidan Turner. A David/Annie pairing would be far more interesting and possibly see them scheme together against the rest of Pine Valley. Pratt would be wise to get rid of Aidan once Rebecca Budig exits the show. Members EricaKane70
ITA. I feel like David and Annie would be a better pairing too. I really have no use for annie but I think I could tolerate her with david. An amc should take that opportunity to get rid of Aidan.
Members Kylie
Okay, so maybe my not watching and just reading recaps and what have you clouds my judgment, but why is everyone so sure that David and Annie would work? From what I've read about her actions, I don't really see her fostering the good in David, but nurturing the bad, and David doesn't need that. Especially is he's already going to be vengeful and out for blood. I'm just not getting how Annie, who they've shown no signs of redeeming yet, and David who is going to be in his dark place where he's unreachable to all but a few (Erica, Bianca, and Greenlee, as it stands now are probably the only ones who could break through his walls, maybe KWAK), would be a plausible duo. I know it's based on the assumption that Pratt is going to redeem Annie, but we don't know that, and knowing Pratt's writing from MP's and GH, I actually don't think he will. Dunno, I'm not opposed to it, but I'm just not sure that she's the best option for David. And while I feel for MCE, I'm a David fan through it all, and I want what's best for him. So far, I'm not feeling like Annie is.
Members Adam
I do agree with you in certain respects Kylie, and I never thought about that angle. I was just going on a chemistry stand point. There is still a level of uncertainty surrounding the character of Annie. Will she be redeemed, how will she be redeemed, and to what extent will she be redeemed? Now that we know Rebecca is exiting I think its safe to say that's one of the major reasons Melissa Claire Egan still has a job today.... I think that's quite clear. I'd like to believe its because Pratt sees such great potential in her (and I do believe he does judging by his centring alot of the show around her as of late), but clearly Rebecca out of the mix promotes that cause. I just want Annie to be viable and sustainable on this show. Melissa is a great young actress who has taken such a one note role on the onset (I mean being a goody-goody writing fairytales), and blossomed it into one of the most interesting roles AMC has had in many years. Anyone but Aidan for Annie though!
Members Kylie
Oh, I agree. I've not seen her, but from everything I've been told and read about her acting, she is talented and quite a find. I hope that she and Annie have a long run on AMC. I"m just looking out for David. I want what's best for him especially since MMT did so much damage to him to before he left in 2006. Like I said, I'm not opposed to David and Annie, I just need something that tells me she's not going to bring out the dark in him. That she's not going to nurture his bad behavior and his coldness. Yes, that is a part of who he is, but he is and can be so much more. That said, I'm not sure what I think is the best direction for Pratt to take David in the wake of Babe's death. But as long as Pratt writes him with all those delicious layers of gray of his, true to character, and keeps his relationships with the people from his past true to their histories, then I'm down for anything with David. But he needs to be David, all shades of gray David, or I'll want him gone again.
