Members UKBoi
I remember reading online a few years ago that ATWT had done a week of experimental shows that included less dialog and more 'alternative' ways of storytelling. At the time I wasn't too hot with technology and YouTube wasn't even in existance, so watching these soaps wasn't easy as barely any websites had video clips or anything. I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this experiment and the results it produced?
Members P.J.
If I remember right, it was the last two weeks of '03, right around the time of Rose's death. They started "jump cutting" scenes...going right from Meg saying "I need to talk to Paul" then showing up at his doorstep, etc. It was all basically about speeding up the action. IMO, it lead took a lot of the "heart" out of the storytelling. Rarely now does a "secret" last more than a few weeks. Pregnancies are ridiculously short. Stories lurch from plot point to plot point, and stories are more simplistic.
