The show was actually pretty damned good during its first couple of years. But it went down the crapper despite it still being written by the same man who created it. Pity.

I disagree. There's never been a time that I thought Passions wasn't just as good as when it started. Granted, I don't think that the majority of the DirecTV episodes are on par with the NBC episodes, but I still love the show.

IA. Also, JH left around that same time and Sheridan & Luis were done for. That put me off.

Anyway, has the finale aired yet?

I wonder if I can catch it on repeat. I wanna at least see that.

That makes no sense. They were hinted at being brother and sister from the get-go, so why did it only bother you when that plot point finally came to fruition? GMAB.

It airs Thursday, August 11.

Whitney and Chad weren't really made brother and sister, it was obvious that they were (or were supposed to be) from the very beginning! The implications and very much innuendo was made pointing to that revelation. Also, Tabitha's book, Hidden Passions served up a clue and Tabitha's witchy nemesis Hecuba foretold it also.

I remember those promos. Honestly, JER should've stuck with the creepy, scary stuff. We have really missed an opportunity to see this show go beyond just campy witches and mermaids. I had always hoped that they would steer off into the direction of other supernatural beings: vampires, werewolves, leprechauns, genies, space aliens among many others. Pity!

The show does look great though!
    • Well, she just said "ladies" on the show but she didn't specify they were fellow actresses. It could have been some of the women behind the scenes of the show. There was a lot in the interview that wasn't clear to me.
    • Now would’ve been a great time to get the next A plot going, versus Bill and Katie and Steffy and Liam rehashing the same BS about Luna we have been hearing for weeks.
    • I feel it could benefit from a focus on one of their three A stories or a solid B plot. But right before the turnover from Guza to Thomson, outside of all things Dani...there's nothing too A story-ish going on. Still entertaining for me, but it's noticeable that there is not a main story with other B/C stories going on. It's just...a bunch of stories going on.    I do hope the build to Winterfest and us actually seeing it THIS month will get things moving again.    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
