I liked Rose for the first year or so, but as soon as she got a romantic interest, you could hear Martha Byrne's Jersey accent start to fade and the humour of the character soon died. When the character died, as much as I hated it, Rose's death put life back into Lily. I will always remember Martha Byrne's epic scenes blaming Paul and Dusty for her sister's death and coming to Rose's funeral in Rose's old showgirl outfit. I think that was some of the strongest stuff Martha Byrne had had in years, other than when she thought Holden and Luke had been blown to bits in the boat explosion.

As for Goutman, eh. I'm kinda glad he didn't show up. It would have been akward to say the least. I think he was unworthy (like AddictedToSoaps has said) and I also think it just goes to show how cowardly all the execs over at ATWT have become.

I couldn't have said it better.
