I am always stereotyped as a rich spoiled brat that does nothing but party with famous people and lets his parents pay for everything. And thats not true... well... not all true, lol. I actually work a fulltime job and pay all my bills. and if my parents were thr ich we would not live in riverside

yea when I think of rich places in Southern California, Riverside does not come to mind. It does seem that people think, because you live in California, that you are rich. I have been in the upper middle calss but right now am in the middle class. There is still a significant part of the population that is right above the poverty line.

Yep. Thi i will admit it. We are in the upper class. granted the lower-upper clas, but still upper class. But its not like i can go drop millions like people seem to think. The other day my friends wanted me to go to the hookah abr with them an i said no because i didnt have any money, and i didnt have any. They were all whatever, thats a lit. you could get money and got all pissy. sure i could go ask my mom for 20 to go to the bar, but why? she worked for her money, shes not going to the bar. it just annoys me.

and i found out a few minutes ago that we live in riverside because its just a house my family has owned for 50 years. i still told my mom we should sell and move to malibu....

and i write about discrimination in daytime and discrimination within the queer community to begin a dialogue as well. that is what message boards are for. everyone is entitled to their opinion. offensive is saying something like: "americans should commit atrocities during war" or something to that effect.

i am expressing my opinion. everyone here is entitled to their opinion. that opinion is based on my experience and the experience of other queer males of color that share the same views as me.

is there unity and equal representation within the queer community? clearly not. for every noah's arc, there's a will&grace, queer as folk UK, queer as folk usa, dante's cove, etc. what's worse is that some of those shows not only lack racial representation, but discriminate against other queer men of color. look at all the magazines (instinct, genre, out, etc.). majority of the models are usually white. is this a unified representation?

my opinion is that there is a lot of racial discrimination against queer men of color within the queer community. you disagreeing with it does not make it "nasty". that is my opinion, and if you disagree, then that is your opinion. but this is how i feel and how other queer men of color that i know feel.

People with dreads are pot smokers. Seriously, I was talking about an American Idol contestant and I made a comment about how this guy looks like he's a pot smoker and it turns out that he has dreads. But honestly, I was looking at his eyes and listening to how he talks.

Have you heard of indirect responses? I guess not. Nobody here thinks i'm funny? Hey everyone, devotedtoamc has telepathic abilities! he can read everyone's minds! Now if only he'll use his psionic powers to influence minds and stop discrimination against racial minorities in the queer community! As for your language choice, you like using those terms to express your opinion, yet you don't like listening to a spanish recording? how classy! anyway, back to topic, another horrible stereotype is that queer people are shallow. not all queer people are shallow, but based on my interactions with other queer men, i would say most queer people are. jmho.

    • That's how I feel. Beats could have been played for the past couple months wherein Dante and Gio interacted and had a difference of opinion -- or something. I don't know. I do know that this crushing rant that blames everything on Gio is absurd. -- Reading over all the comments here about characters and couples, it's kind of amazing that we have any show left considering the number of times actors and writers and execs were given influence to make major character and story decisions. Too many cooks in the kitchen.
    • Lol. But Jeffrey was weak to mama. Leslie can go dead because anger is a great motivator via Martin defending HIS mama and just not taking ish altogether. This ain't how it should be. They need not run the show like this. It's too noticeable.
    • Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
    • Yeah, I agree. It's part of the reason I have shade picked on Martin's Secret being so on the backburner that it was about to fall off of it. With Dani/Bill/Hayley being the main tale to start us off and backburned and the SilkPress storyline being well paced, but not set to explode until May, Martin's Secret was the other main storyline that could have been developed. And after giving it a nice slow burn to start off, the story upped and vanished in Month 2. That left the show having to rely on mostly B/C stories to stay afloat to various degrees of success.
    • I loved those scenes, lol. I thought I was watching a stage play. But I do hear what you're saying.
    • Jason47's episode summaries clarify everything. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1990-1999-t14806-s150.html The construction company is "AJ Construction" (AJ = Adrienne+Justin).   Jencon Oil was building an oil refinery at the construction site.  This was adjacent to the park. Kirk Geiger played the character Chad Webster. The character Chad was an actor in the movie being made.   The child friend with Shawn-Douglas is his cousin Andrew Donovan. A few episodes prior, Andrew and Shawn-Douglas were at the park playing hide-and-seek. They wandered off where they shouldn't have gone, by slipping through the gate onto the construction site.  Shawn-D fell into the hole at the oil refinery. There were several episodes of trying to rescue Shawn-D.  Finally Carly rescued Shawn-D, but he was discovered to be deaf.  Andrew felt bad, but Bo and Shane both understood that it was an accident.  Carly later taught Shawn-D sign language. Shawn-D was played by Scott Groff. Andrew was played by Bradley Michael Pierce. pics here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070404163013/http://www.childrenofsalem.com/days/kids/shawnandrew/shawnandrew.html Larger context here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.htmlhttps://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.html
