Maksim Comes Clean About His Soap Stint

What does Maksim Chmerkovskiy know about pole dancing? Nothing. But that didn't stop All My Children from hiring him as an expert. The Dancing with the Stars stud will play himself on the Feb. 26 episode, where he'll teach the erotic art to several of Pine Valley's dishiest babes. "When I got to [AMC] they were shocked that I've never done pole-dancing before —like, why would I? — but I figured it out and tried to keep it clean," says Chmerkovskiy.

He insists he has no interest in acting and has nixed most other non-dancing offers. "People have wanted to put me in a cowboy hat and make me the next Nashville Star," he says. "Trust me, that's not where my talent is. I'm like a peacock — beautiful but you don't want to hear it sing."

His impression of AMC? "It's really hard work but, to be honest, soaps are a bit cheesy," Chmerkovskiy says. "All the girls were telling me about their crazy storylines. One of them had been in a coma three times. Another one used to be a ghost."

One of those "girls" was Rebecca Budig (Greenlee), who had to reintroduce herself to Chmerkovskiy when he came to the AMC studio. "Maks is really sweet but he didn't remember me, even though I only met him like a gazillion times when I went to watch Cameron Mathison [AMC's Ryan] do Dancing with the Stars," says Budig. "Apparently the 'real' Greenlee isn't that memorable!"

But who needs the bum, anyway? "I already knew how to pole-dance — I'm level three with the S Factor!" Budig says, referring to the striptease workout created by former L.A. Law star Sheila Kelley. In fact, it was Budig's ability to work a pole that landed her a two-part CSI role last fall. (She played a doomed stripper who lapdanced for Gary Dourdan's Warrick.)

Notes Budig with a laugh: "My mother was so proud that all those strip classes finally paid off and that I now have something to fall back on. She said, 'If you can't get acting jobs, dear, you can always go to work at the local ti--y bar.'" — Michael Logan

Hiring someone who doesn't know [!@#$%^&*] about pole dancing to teach pole dancing, seriously WTF? Just when we thought this show couldn't get any stupider

I still dont think it's a coincidence they suddenly have Greenlee suggesting this since RB pole dances

Seriously, does anyone at AMC (other than the actors and sometimes the directors) bother to do their job? Does everyone else just sit around listening to "Apologies" and eating Campbell's soup?

Nobody bothered to check if the guy they were bringing on to teach pole dancing to the Fusion women knew anything about pole dancing?

Julie Carruthers, Ginger Smith, Judy Wilson, Nadine Aronson...all these supposedly professional women and that never crossed any of their minds?

Seriously, whoever has the key to the liquor cabinet at the AMC studios needs to exercise a little restraint.

"Apparently the 'real' Greenlee isn't that memorable!"

Amen, sister.

LMAO Khan, I found that part hilarious, first RB whines about Josh Duhamel not calling her back and now about Maks not having remembered her. Guess she's not as memorable as she thinks she is

Is there a pole dancer with a built in audience from a variety show on the same network? They wanted someone from DWTS, and that's what they got. The list of candidates for such a meaningless role couldn't have been long anyway. They also got hosed when he ridiculed their ridiculous plots. B)

This has got to be the lowest point. Srsly, i am thinking AMC is sinking lower than GL when it cloned Reva, Days posessed marlena, OLTL underground city thing, and anything passions has ever done. Its rather comical at this point, and thats sad.

Wow!! Can AMC get any lower than this, probably? TIIC are throwing everything out there to try and get the RATINGS up except getting rid of the horrid writers and whoever is ruining AMC. The only reason this pole classless sh!t is on AMC is all because RB has been pole dancing. I'm LMAO  at whoever hired Mak's to come on AMC to pole dance and he admitted in print that he does not know how to pole dance. I'm crying with laughter that Mak's didn't remember the "Real Greenlee"/RB. No one else remembered her either, because she did not help the RATINGS whatsoever with all the "Real Greenlee" promo's. What's so sad is that Mak's thinks Soaps are cheesy. With the lastest pole dancing crap and promo's of three women chasing one Ryass no wonder he thinks Soaps are cheesy.

Way to Go AMC, NOT  !!!!!!!!
