That these minorities share interests rather than brains?

What the [!@#$%^&*] does that mean?!

Wow. Just.....wow.

It means exactly what it says...No one is saying that minorities share a brain (or cant think for themselves) by stating that they vote in a majority for on party..

Minorities share interests (informed educated interests are shared by like groups)..Gays vote in the interest of gay rights..Not because they all think alike or cant think for themselves...same goes for other groups....Wales post said the exact same thing...

I say.. wow..just wow!...at your interpretation skills..You spin it as I am the grand dragon of the KKK for simply stating facts.

The truth is hispanics, gays, Jewish, and AA all vote in blocks...No one can deny the fact that they vote in blocks.

Actually we can deny that. People vote for the candidate they feel best serves them and will represent them. I work in a highly political town. In 2005, we voted for Mayor. The incumbent, Mayor Lorenzo T. Langford, who had very strong support within the black community was knocked out of running due to overwhelming support from lifelong Republican turned Democrat Robert Levy. Levy and Langford debated throughout the city, and on primary day, Levy won. He had an overwhelming amount of votes from black in AC.

Over the next two years, Levy proved how incapable he was of running AC, and the truth came out about the lies he told, including lying about his military record. Langford was barred from running for public office due to violation of the HATCH act. Levy was subsequently replaced by City Council President, then a new mayor was appointed via the Democratic organization. Langford ran for mayor to fill out the final year of Levy's term this past year, and wiped the floor clean in the primary. He will run against a black Republican Candidate and a white independent candidate. Are you telling me that all blacks will vote for one over the other?

The above statement in bold proves what I am saying...minorities vote in blocks..

Your post seems to imply that I am saying all blacks will vote for a black candidate..No where in this thread have I said that. I said minorities vote in blocks...sharing the same interests.

You are trying to interject an argument that I am actually agreeing with you on. People think for themselves...more times than not minorities will share the same vested interests in one particular candidate..therefore they will vote in a block...

Casey, I thought you were ignoring Wales' posts.

You just referenced him, so how are you ignoring him?

Just asking.

So, do whites vote in blocks?

In Atlantic City, blacks are the majority. I was trying to say that given two candidates, one black, one white (as Levy is), the voters chose who THEY felt would be the best choice. It had nothing to do with them voting in blocks.

You must have ignored it more than me.

BTW great comeback...you are simply amazing..

Well then this wouldn't be a case of minorities voting...if blacks are the majority...

Ryan,

Help me out please because what I got from the above is that Levy is a non black candidate that won over a black candidate and that a large number of black voters voted for Levy instead of the black candidate who most people would assume they had more in common. Did I get that right?

I would say that it's true that most black voters tend to be Democrats but false that most black voters will vote for the black candidate just because he/she is black. The same goes for other groups.

I have no reason to ignore him.

Oh, I'm sorry. What you MEANT TO SAY was "I never said I was ignoring his posts. Just the stuff I disagreed with with."

[!@#$%^&*], that crap works for McCain.

So, do whites vote in blocks?

Not historically...When a certain group of people are considered the majority...its pretty much impossible to vote in a block.

They may in the case of say Ryan's example of AC...They would be the minority so they would probably have similar interests..Do you get what I am saying at all?

Nice effort to stay on subject..But do you still disagree that minorites vote with the same interests in mind?

Do you read anything anyone says, or do you just think up [!@#$%^&*] and that becomes fact?

And I just love it when YOU of ALL PEOPLE accuse someone of not being on topic (I still laugh at that "Obama is a Muslim" crap you started to prove he's not an American and therefore shouldn't be POTUS).

Yes, I disagree. For the 3rd time. Are you going to ask me again so I can disagree again?

Oh, so whites don't vote in a block....but minorities do.

Thanks, Casey. You have just made my point!!!!

What in the world are you talking about?

And I just love it when YOU of ALL PEOPLE accuse someone of not being on topic (I still laugh at that "Obama is a Muslim" crap you started to prove he's not an American and therefore shouldn't be POTUS).

Again, great effort of staying on subject ...How would Obama being a Muslim not make him an American. You are making no sense. The court case against him (BTW, I didn't file it) was questioning his place of birth. Not his religion.

Yes, I disagree. For the 3rd time. Are you going to ask me again so I can disagree again?

On minorities voting with the same interest...So if you disagree with both Wales and myself, why did you single me out in your responses? You realize you disagree with Wales as well..right?

That is correct Wales. Though AC has a majority of black residents, they do not necessarily vote for candidates just because they are black. We have a diverse city council, mayor's office (the current interim mayor is white), and diverse officials at city hall.
