This is an interesting article. But the comments from readers are downright scary. Rumors (still) that Obama is a radical muslim and will disband the military.

Although there are people walking around that think this way, I don't think they represent the core. The internet is definitely home to what may seem like a lot of people with extreme views and one of the reasons they love the internet is because they would have a difficult time pushing their views among the general population.

Whether or not people feel that the media is being unfair or too easy on Palin, the fact remains that Americans on whole still don't know very much about her period. Keeping her from interviews for this long only gives people about six weeks to make up their minds about her. All those people who insist that knowing your candidate is important aren't going to get to know enough.

Joe Biden saying he wasn't the best choice doesn't mean a whole lot. It merely demonstrates humility on his part and nothing more. Whether or not people agree with or even like Joe Biden, I don't think there is a whole lot of debate going on about his ability to step in and run the country. If that were at issue then Obama's judgment would have been questioned on that already. The only question about his selection of Joe Biden has been a political one as in his not picking the right candidate to win the election......and if anyone believes that then the fact that Obama chose his vp based on who would do the job well vs. who might get him more votes, puts to rest McCain's notion that Obama puts his ambition before what's best for the country. In fact, McCain should look at himself when he utters those words.

McCain is on The View this morning.

Barbara Walters gave him some tough questions about "What is Sarah Palin going to reform in Washington? Republicans have been in power for 8 years". He couldn't answer that.

Joy asked him why he is more in lock step with the Repubs than the used to be. And also called him out on how he can approve the "lipstick" and sex ed ad, when they are false. Babs then called him out on his previous use of the "lipstick" remark.

My Lord. This is despicable. Talk about adding insult to injury. And I refuse to believe everyone getting foreclosed on had a sub-prime loan. Let's not forget that unemployment is pretty frickin' high right now. Man, the GOP really wants to keep the poor every-man/woman from voting. They don't even trust the American people to choose the next President-- or they wouldn't be doing all of this.

Article about corporate taxes

This is a great article about what I have tried to explain. Corporations do not pay taxes, people do. If you increase taxes on business it will trickle down to the consumer. That's all corporations do, they embed their tax burden into their products. So when you claim to reduce taxes on the middle class, it's true on paper but not in the economy as a whole.

Although there are people walking around that think this way, I don't think they represent the core. The internet is definitely home to what may seem like a lot of people with extreme views and one of the reasons they love the internet is because they would have a difficult time pushing their views among the general population.

Whether or not people feel that the media is being unfair or too easy on Palin, the fact remains that Americans on whole still don't know very much about her period. Keeping her from interviews for this long only gives people about six weeks to make up their minds about her. All those people who insist that knowing your candidate is important aren't going to get to know enough.

Joe Biden saying he wasn't the best choice doesn't mean a whole lot. It merely demonstrates humility on his part and nothing more. Whether or not people agree with or even like Joe Biden, I don't think there is a whole lot of debate going on about his ability to step in and run the country. If that were at issue then Obama's judgment would have been questioned on that already. The only question about his selection of Joe Biden has been a political one as in his not picking the right candidate to win the election......and if anyone believes that then the fact that Obama chose his vp based on who would do the job well vs. who might get him more votes, puts to rest McCain's notion that Obama puts his ambition before what's best for the country. In fact, McCain should look at himself when he utters those words.

I think you're right on about the VP picks. Had Obama chosen Kaine, the right would have been in an uproar and the media would be droning on and on right now about Obama's judgement and/or ability to lead.

They actually got McCain to admit on The View that he thought Roe V. Wade was a mistake. Has he said that before? I know that he's "prolife" but I don't think he's ever commented explicitly on Roe. Of course, he said he would nominate judges that would not "legislate from the bench" and no "litmus tests". Right.

Cindy looked pretty pissed at Babs for asking her exactly how many houses they have. That it's not part of the issues that need to be discussed. Really? And flag pins are?

The difference between McCain's and Obama's VP pick IMO has to do with their flexibility. McCain had more flexibility in his pick because his experience has never been in question. He had the ability to choose someone that is "unknown".

I do not see how you can say Obama's pick was not political (personal) in motivation. If he had chosen Clinton he would not have been acused solely trying to get votes, because Clinton is just as qualified as Biden if not more, as Joe said. Even if he was questioned on just trying to get votes he would have Hillary's experience to answer those challenges.

I think it was personal resentment that aided in his snubbing of Clinton. So if you want to glorify Obama's pick as one that was not personal, I do not see that.

I still have yet to hear any good reason for him not picking Hillary.

Not always. From the same article you linked:

The burden of corporate taxation is ultimately borne by customers (through higher prices), stockholders (smaller dividends and capital gains), and employees (lower wages).”

They may not actually pay the tax, but they are taxed. What do you think of a company that gets a tax break from the city/county/state government to build an office under the premise of hiring X people, by X time frame, making X salary and the corporation doesn't meet that agreement? Should the government entity that gave the corporations the tax break to begin with fully tax them? Or should they keep getting a tax break for jobs they were suppose to create locally but instead hired someone in India to do it?
