August 28, 200817 yr Member Wow. I just read a article at CNN that says John McCain will choose Tom Ridge as his running mate. If this is true......did he just blow the campaign? The prolife peeps will have a fit. But he my give Biden a little run on World Affiars but Biden still has the middleclass stuff. As far as the GOP peeps go his better than Joe L but not by much. His was going to get killed with Rommey , so Ridge is best choice he could make. Just means they will have to try and make Obama even more scary!
August 28, 200817 yr Member http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/ca...c_b_122176.html Right on the money! IA with this post after this article. (Its right on the money!) Now you hate the media but when the media was pushing Obama at the expense of Hillary you were fine with it. Can't have it both ways. The fact is those Greek columns are ridiculous. The fact is there is no love between the Clintons and the Obamas. The fact that in order for people to get into tonight's event they have to give up their cell phone number and/or other contact information so Obama can hit them up for contributions. It's appalling but it's true. These are facts whether they're on MSNBC, the network that loves Obama or Fox, the network that doesn't.

This was the scene when he agreed to take his nomination in 2000! I just love someone who can tell me what I love and don't love. You say you want an honest, civil debate, and then you make a post like this proving the exact opposite. I had some respect for you. HAD now being the opprotive word. Oh, and one more thing.......please find out what you're talking about first before telling me what I like or don't like. Thank you very much. Edited August 28, 200817 yr by Roman
August 28, 200817 yr Member I think the majority of us realize that the pundits need all this "talk" so that viewers keep watching. While I agree that Obama got slightly more positive press than Clnton in the primaries, that's definetly not the case now. As a matter of fact it has been reported that approximately 70% of his press is negative compared to about 58% for McCain. The Huff post article is right on. The standards are quite different. In my opinion, the standard is set extremely high for one candidate versus another. A stage is a stage. That's what is set up at Mile High Stadium. In all the conventions I've watched (and I've watched many), the stage is always similiar. I think it's done to set a tone of statesmanship. It's a very trivial point and it amazes me that it's all over the cable news. Like I posted before CSPAN, no commentators, no commercials. Watch and form your own opinion. In terms of the money and the cell phone thing. Well, you have to fund these things some way and guess what, you can say NO.
August 29, 200817 yr Member The Clintons/Obama's are working things out and it's just KILLING the Repugs. When Obama gets into the White House you can bet Hillary will do very well for herself. If Mrs.Obama has her way Hillary will be getting a job for life on the High Court! If all the GOP can come up with is to bash the arena this history making event is happenign in they TRULY need to go away and try another day! BTW i'm watching Stevie Wonder sing and he RULES!

Now you hate the media but when the media was pushing Obama at the expense of Hillary you were fine with it. Can't have it both ways. The fact is those Greek columns are ridiculous. It's appalling but it's true. These are facts whether they're on MSNBC, the network that loves Obama or Fox, the network that doesn't. Nothing you've said changes the fact that the media coverage is biased and ridiculous. Most of them just latch on to the first stupid thing they hear and repeat it over and over as if it will make it credible. I don't care for the media even though I listen and watch. I am more keenly aware of their efforts to influence the public instead of reporting facts (excluding those who are paid to give their opinions). I don't need to hear Charles Gibson whining over McCain's fund raising disadvantage or Tom Brokaw making it seem as if being a POW makes it that a candidate is excused from running a mature campaign, being attacked on his political stance, and from saying anything than promoting war. When the media does decide to report facts it's the kind of nonsense that isn't going to do anything for anyone. Are the columns that important? People are better off watching CSPAN and skipping the crap unless they can put it in its proper perspective.
