I think what I find most offensive about McCain is his innocent act and his hypocrisy. I might not respect some opinions but I do have respect for people owning their words. Huffington post is full of information and it seems that McCain had his own little Obama on the dollar bill ad going in June. He's also trying to stir up animosity between Obama and people of Latin descent.

The Latino's seem to be totally on side with Obama. The GOP's nastiness agianst them as made them side with Obama. McCain only real way to make inroads with them is to have an Latino VP and that dosen't seem to be in his plans!

Obama's trick will be getting the Latino vote out to the polls!

I think McCain's ill temper is showing through again. He is mad because Obama received news media coverage on the foreign trip that McCain dared him to make. Now he is running a bunch of immature ads. I think McCain's temper will kill him during this campaign. He comes off as petulant.

The lying does matter to me. I know it's unrealistic to expect so much honesty and integrity but I will hold on to that pipe dream for the rest of my life.

I don't think this has any bearing on his ability to continue fighting against poverty and other causes. The thing this most questions is his ability to convincingly speak on morals. It might help if he seemed more contrite if he speaks on the topic.

Shifting gears, I know there are Democrats who want Obama to come out swinging against McCain and I think it's easier to say than do. McCain is ready to paint himself as some sort of victim including an old man being attacked by that guy you can't trust so it's probably best if he just attacks him on whatever their differences on substantive issues.

It's about whether McCain gets to look like an angry bitter old man or an a victimized old war vet.

And back to the judgment aspect of an affair: McCain admitted to having several and he ultimately left his wife after she'd been in a car accident, for a younger richer woman to whom he's still married. According to the LA Times, his treatment of his ex-wife caused a falling out with Ronald and Nancy Reagan. But McCain's political life survived it all. I would suggest that the same personal judgment about which some have questioned Obama because of his former church affiliation, should be the same standard by which people question McCain's. It seems to be that the way you treat your family is of more significance than the church you choose to attend since you're with that family basically everyday.

My roundabout point is that there are many people who do extremely well in business and make the best decisions but aren't nearly as adept when it comes to their personal matters.

If the GOP or 1 of their groups try uses Edwards affair agianst the Dems they need to have 1 of there outside groups bring up the McCain affairs.

At this point i feel that Obama needs an hitman or woman has his VP someone who can hit McGoo back hard keeping Obama from having to do it.

IMO the new backboney John Kerry would be perfect as VP!

Clinton gets to headline a convention night so now it's down to whether there will be a roll call for her. I can see why there was concern about her campaign memos being made public.

I don't see John Kerry as a VP choice. His role as a surrogate is going well enough and there's no reason to cause anyone to backtrack to when he lost.

I guess there's no real dirt to dig up on Obama if they have to focus on where he went to school when he was 10. This has to be the pettiest presidential campaign I can recall. I am glad that ABC didn't get a debate because considering the last one they handled I can only imagine having Charles and George spend 15 minutes whining about Obama not using public funds and why he went to private school on a scholarship.

I just hope these Independents/Moderates realize Obama's healthcare and economic plans are just an unfair redistribution of wealth from hard working Americans to many undeserving recipiants.

Keep taxes low, and let everyone take care of THEMSELVES!

I'm having trouble following this. Perhaps you could explain what you mean about Obama's healthcare and economic plans being an unfair redistribution of wealth.

For that matter, I challenge you to tell me exactly where each involves a any redistribution of wealth, either fair or unfair.

As far as taxes being kept low, taxes for people in my income bracket would be lowered. Taxes for those in upper incomes would be increased.

I'd like to chime in on this because I fail to see how shifting the tax policy in any way is going to result in a redistribution of wealth. The idea of taxing people who make more money is nothing new nor has it ever resulted in people living below the poverty line suddenly becoming wealthy. Even the welfare system does not lead to wealth for the individuals who participate in it.

It may seem unfair but having a tax scale based on income brackets makes some degree of sense when you consider that 20 percent of the lowest income on the scale is a big chunk to someone making a little amount of money who isn't able to take advantage of loopholes or doesn't make enough to hide in another country.

    • Yes Daphne left in the May 26 episode
    • Haha, I get it. I was too old when Halloweentown was popular with the kids, but I did go back and watch the first two about 6-7 years ago and actually thought Marnie was a likable lead and she was pretty good, for a movie like that. But now watching GL and seeing her as a young child, I totally get what you're saying. She's annoying haha.
    • I feel bad for judging a child, but, to be fair, she's over 40 now. My daughter was into Halloweentown when it reran on the Disney Channel in the 2010s. I wasn't impressed then, either.
    • Isn't that funny how certain memories as young children stick with you through life... Haha I totally get what you mean. That's how I felt with GL in the beginning, but then I got used to it. Seeing so many of my favorite AMC characters on GL was wild - Walker, Irizarry, Dusay, Budig, Aleksander, Gil Rogers, etc.  Ironically, it helps that Irizarry and Dusay played both mother/son in both shows. I know Marcy Walker was wasted on GL as Tangie, but selfishly I'm so glad she was. When she left GL and returned immediately to AMC as Liza Colby, man was it such a great storyline. The Tad/Dixie/Liza triangle was so emotional, tense and memorable. The AMC fans got lucky with that one. WRCW, Tad/Liza working together, the affair, then Jason Sheffield and the shooting on-set... all amazing stuff.   LOL!
    • I remember thinking that he was fantastic after Reva's 1990 "death," with his grief and attempted relationship with Harley. I also remember the cute Marah, not the toothy chick from Halloweentown.
    • Totally agree - we have much to learn about Vernon, and I'd love to see it.
    • I've enjoyed Vernon but I wouldn't be opposed to learning more about his life beyond his political work. What kind of family does he come from? Does he have any siblings? I feel like that could be an interesting thing to look at.

    • I've always said, Robert Newman does not get enough credit for the popularity of Josh/Reva. Had he stayed in '91, and had years to build other relationships before Kim returned, I'm not sure we'd have been stuck with "always".
    • Bizarrely, while I didn't see it, I distinctly remember my younger sister telling me. We were walking to the store, and at the top of the hill she let out "Roger raped Holly", and I swear I remember it echoing for what seemed like forever. She would've been five at the time.  I know,,,which I find extraordinary. I have toyed with the idea of watching Another World for Maeve, Kathleen Widdoes and Beverlee. But watching Vanessa call Emma Snyder "momma" kinda weirded me out. LOL. I believe that's what I read in the recaps from the time as well. I meant, I couldn't quite believe that the audience wouldn't understand that a woman preparing to go to her engagement party  was raped. I know that on ATWT John raped Kim while they were married, resulting in Andy, but I think they shied away from calling that marital rape.
