The McCain Campaign responds:

"We feel that the deplorable lies that have been told by Wales shows that he is willing to put himself ahead of the message board. If he would spend his time watching the Young & The Restless (Which is what Roman was doing as Wales was posting this article first) we feel that we can get back to a spirit of bi-partisanship at SON."

Mulder! You have said it all. Bush's Administration has treated the press like a pariah and it appears that McCain is wanting to continue on that path. I guess they're scared shitless that an open, transparent administration will show them to be the criminals that they are.

:lol::lol::lol:;)

Cool beans, my friend.

:lol::lol::lol:

And Wales....being Wales (which BTW is fabulous)......responds that Wales just might be one very fly chick.....who knows???? I think Brian was trying to uncover this the other day. But my motto is.....brace yourself......don't ask don't tell. If there's one thing I liked about The Human Stain it is that when the protagonist had the chance to set the record straight.....he didn't because it ultimately doesn't matter. Wow.....'still a legend in my own mind though. :lol: Oh and I'm pretty versatile too.

I don't get that impression at all. I think the man is stalling and playing partisan games....which he's become accustomed to doing so no surprise there.

Cancel no....stall yes.....maybe he's looking for time to get back on track. This kind of piddly partisn rubbish to me. Was he not holding hands with the Democrats through his years in office as this type of mess was building up?

'Sorry if I don't stand up and cheer this move. Maybe he could sit down and tell Bush to get Paulson to stop seeking so much power or he can come out and get all the Democrats to praise his magnificent efforts in getting them to play along.

This kind of thing puts me off poltical parties. So one guy from party A gets to lay down the rules and the other guy from party B has to heed and follow or else he's subjected to attacks. I think each candidate pushes for what's beneficial to him and in this case McCain is more comfortable with a small crowd......Obama probably really doesn't care so I don't see why he should do that which is expeditious to McCain simply to make McCain happy? What was the concession that McCain using bullying tactics plan to make? None so far that I can see.....oh wait he wouldn't have stuck it to Obama in ads.

At this point even if the topic were should white shoes be worn after September, the people need to see them go head to head in a debate forum. The only thing front and center on my mind right now is food....and I admittedly have a short attention span so I don't want them having any convoluted debates on issues they think will matter to me.....if I can't understand what they're really talking about. And since I'm so shallow anyway.....I'll get distracted in no time at all if someone's tie clashes....although they'll probably do the whole navy blue suit thing.....which won't be adventurous enough for me....

Ok. So why is Obama's backtracking on the bi-partisan effort? Why continue with the bickering when we need every Senator to come together and focus on this issue?

I'm sure McCain could, but this type of financial crisis is a very large historical event. It's not the regular ho hum daily votes of congress.

I've never said anything even close to this Roman. I have no idea what you are talking about...

How is Obama backtracking or bickering?

Is the debate going to take a few days to have or is it a matter of hours because when politicians posture about how they're skipping several hours of this to do this ginnormous thing that is going to take more than those hours... Why didn't he rush back sooner or did it take him this long to realize it might be serious and now he wants to jump right on it? How much confidence should the public have in a leader who takes a little while to figure out that a problem is really a problem and might seriously need some attention?

Let me say it then....Obama and McCain aren't going to fix this problem whether they go hold hands and sing kumbaya or not. The whole village has to fix in it and they're not the whole village and right now all they can do is pose and try to look presidential. I expect them to show up for the vote and even participate via teleconferencing on the matter but neither one is the head of the pertinent committee....or did I miss that too?

Does anybody think that McCain is trying to divert attention from the fact that his campaign manager was getting money from Fannie Mae on a monthly basis and that his company was still getting paid by Fannie Mae up until last month?

And how ironic is it that McCain had an ad out tying to make Raines out as an Obama financial adviser in an effort to make a connection to Fannie Mae and Obama when McCain's campaign manager had an actual connection to Fannie Mae?

What do you think of McCain lying to David Letterman saying he could not do his show because he had to go and handle the financial crisis when it turns out that McCain was actually doing an interview with Katie Couric and Letterman was able to see the feed at the time when McCain should have been taping his show? He also met with the woman who formerly supported Clinton and is now supporting him today and he'll be in New York until morning...so he's really rushing back to Washington to work this thing out eh...

I see. So Democrats NEVER pain the Republicans as responsible for anything and everything.

Except... maybe...

ONLY the biggest financial crisis to hit the nation in our lifetimes!?!?!?

:huh:

Paging Barney Frank... Paging Barney Frank... do you still believe there is no crisis? Mr. Frank?

    • They are just right there in your face.  It's hard to not see Ciara's boobs at all times.  And simmer down camera man, this is a family show!! The high school stuff makes it weird.  Physically the actors all look fine together.  It just makes me think Doug needs to find friends his own age.   With Ari at least Doug was under the impression she was over 21. I liked JJ and Eve too lol!
    • Specifically that's Kat & she is, there's no other way to say it except like pulling off a band-aid. She's Chad's "#1 fan" IOW, basically, kinda sorta she's an albatross around Chad's neck.  Kat can turn any conversation into a discussion of Chad & what he ate for breakfast or the most minute of minute things about Chad Duell's life & times.  We hope she's not dangerous. We hope she's just boring. That Chad is not back has lit a fire under her. She's upped her number of posts, which all relate in some way to Chad. Now you know what there is to know about as I said Chad Duell's #1 fan.
    • The Duh-prees - Count me in as someone who cannot stand Kat’s fashion. No one walks around town dressed like that. And those wigs? Completely immovable. We have incredible wig technology these days—can’t the show find something better? - Vernon’s sermons are total FF material. - It looks like they’re setting up a past drinking habit for Anita (with all the “drowning” references), and maybe even a rape/child plot? Also—remember when Dani was an alcoholic? Lol.   Ted / Nicole / Leslie - Some people are projecting way too much onto OG Ted. Sure, he had screen presence, but his line delivery was pure caricature. He wasn’t menacing or threatening—he was a joke. NuTed may be meek, a bit one-note, and smaller in stature, but his confrontation with Leslie on Friday worked. Also, let’s be real—Bill’s not scary either. Total softie. Couldn’t scare a fly. - The ATWT reference was cute, but wasn’t the Duncan storyline from the ‘80s? Are we supposed to believe Nicole was already practicing back then? Since she said it was her patients who watched… like others pointed out, God forbid she watched herself! - Also: I stand corrected on Leslie. I think she’s starting to make more sense as a character. She’s fearless and provocative—that’s what drives her. I actually loved her mirror scene where Nicole 2.0 made her debut.   The non-Dupree characters - You guys were a bit dramatic about Monday’s show. It just had too many unlikeable storylines crammed into one. That’s all. Also, I stand by what I said about Derek and Ashley—their storyline is totally rom-com coded, and I’m into it. - I’ve developed a soft spot for Doug!!

      And I thought that Vanessa ripping into Ted had a subtle layer of self-reprimand to it   - I officially can’t stand André. I don’t buy him as a playboy at all. Same goes for Pamela with her transatlantic accent. It’s such a shame that this is the first character CML had to create… and this is what we got?

    • You’re really starting to see panic in the other actors’ eyes as they watch him struggle to get through his lines. There is a shot in yesterday’s episode in which  Swickard is standing behind Mo while he drones on and on, and the younger actor is clearly doing everything he can to hide his “WTF” face.

    • I just saw this & I liked it. Maybe you will like it too. You do not have to attend every argument you are invited to. It seems to me to be a suitable adage for today's internet.
    •   oh wow, yes!  (if written by BTG writers, their time wouldn't be wasted discussing Dumas)
    • That's a promo with some spoilers in it.  It's been posted in the spoiler section, on its own thread here, and also linked on the May spoiler thread here.
    • The thing I like most about this story is that no one is really "the bad guy". It's possible to see what motivated different people. You can think things through from so many different points of view! Yes, I get it that half the town is going to be furious with Lois & a good chunk of people are gonna blame Lulu but I really think this story is amazing.
