Members bellcurve
I saw this show, for the first time ever, at a friend's house and I have a few questions: 1. Do the cast, crew, and MTV acknowledge this as a reality TV show? Do they really say it's a reality show? It just looks too...glossy, well lit, and staged to be a reality show, even more show than MTV's other reality show fare(i.e. REAL WORLD/ROAD RULES, unless they tape in this style too?). 2. Do the girls get paid AFTRA or SAG fees for appearing in the show? Not that the rich bitches need the money, but do they get residual checks for everytime their show is aired on MTV, DVDs, and other platforms?! 3. And I assume if there are writers behind "The Hills," they don't get paid WGA wages? I find this show amazingly bad...like a bad trainwreck. Even PASSIONS has more honest moments than this "reality" show. I can't believe these shows speak to our generation of people.
Members Drew
I'm sure its in their deals to get residuals for the airings and DVD sales. According to Audrina on TMZ (lol), they're not scripted so the strike will not effect them. There is alot fake and staged on the Hills though, but that could easily be orchestrated by the producers who wouldn't necessarily be WGA members. Its not hard to organize a bitch fight afterall ... Members JackPeyton
i actually know a few people who have been on the hills & laguna beach. they said its not faked - but more staged and the people on the show know what the fans & producers want. so its part real, part staged, part acting, pretty much.
