Is ATWT pulling an AMC with shakey cams?

Yeah, they started this a week or so ago - the first episode was all shakey cam - and now it looks like only certain scenes/settings are getting the shakey cam. I hate it, bc there isn't a movie look to it like AMC had (which made that really good to me) - but this is just straight up shakey cam.

I'll admit it again--I never really saw the "movie look" with AMC. maybe it's because I tape and watch AMC at the poorest quality on a video tape I've reused over a hundred times so the nuances in images I don't notice (except that, like when the film look was used on The City and Sunset Beach I notice that diagonal lines look all pixely)

Yep, they are using the shaky cam conceit. And the film they use looks like it's been dropped in a vat of Pepsi. What's with the dark?

One word, ATWT: S-t-e-a-d-i-c-a-m. Invented so that the camera never has to shake when your cameraman does. Invest in one!

AMC's steadicam was great if you ask me. I don't know what Goutman is up to, but he seems to be the only EP whose use of with this technique includes an herbal tea tint. It makes everyone's skin look horrible. And don't tell me he had to wait until episodes aired to find that out. This guy continually lets dumb decisions reign supreme.
