I thought Tuesday's was much better than Monday,

I really liked the Antonio and Jess scenes

Jess and Nash and Nat were good

Loved Miles and John and then Nat and Miles today

Great to have a break from Marty , I only wish I had a break from Cole as well lol

Yesterday was so-so for me , Viki and Starr are always good scenes, not much doubt or surprise there, Blair and Todd were pretty good too and I liked Adriana and Dorian but honestly I don't care about Layla and Vincent together and I have no attachment to either of them together or apart, for me it was ff material as was any of the Marty scenes, she bores me to tears

I have seen major improvments in OLTL! :)

But....

Too much Marty, John, and why not give Todd his child back. <_<

I am really hating that Rex took that hoe back! He was right and she was wong!

ETA: Is this still Higley's writing

I'm not exactly sure, but I keep hearing that it will be around sometime in September when Dena's name will dissappear, and Ron's solo work will first appear. I think we are seeing Ron's influence now, but the overall present stories I believe are hers.

Wow, Rex... forgave her and sexed her up in two days. My respect for this character is in the negative. The biggest mistake they could have did to him and hook them back up like nothing happened. They should have took their time, and had them bond again over their involvement in the Tommy situation first... because they are looking silly being together already, after all the damage that Tate caused to everyone in Llanview.

^^I agree...Rex is becoming as dumb as Adriana.

I thought today's show wasn't have bad....aside from Marty's usual sobbing at every word anyone says to her.

Nora is two for two this week....if she keeps that up she may surpass the five episodes she was in during the month of July.

Agreed--today was the first time in AGES that I watched the whole show for whatever reason (maybe cuz of no Jessica/Antonio scenes...) though the Marty stuff was a bit much, as it always is. Maybe the show is coming around... (Do we have a date yet for when Dena's name leaves the writing credit?)

    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
