Members slinden
From todays The Sun newspaper... "EX-SPICE GIRLS guru Simon Fuller is planning an EastEnders-style US soap. Simon, who is also one of the brains behind American Idol, is reportedly making Born In The USA, a soap about the lives of three working-class families in Philadelphia. Last year’s American Idol runner-up Lisa Tucker has joined the cast along with US TV actress Tembi Locke. Fox TV is making a pilot with characters including a Polish pub owner, a young Catholic priest, a divorced dad and an engaged couple." http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001320...7160450,00.html
Members jcar03
From the little I know of EastEnders it does kinda sound like it but this "Born in the USA" will be a half hour primetime soap not the daytime soap it was originally reported as being....Here is the link to the Reuters article: http://www.reuters.com/article/televisionN...745705020070308 Plus, SOD would of reported on a possible new daytime soap and they haven't. Members Mason
Sounds decent, but I really hope they change the show's name. 'Born in the U.S.A.' just sounds so boring, especially for a soap.
Members Drew
Born in the USA is a horrible title. Use it as your theme, but name it something else. Like the city or something.

Members heatherwebber
It was originally announced as a prime time pilot in the style of Eastenders (even to the point of possibly running multiple episodes on different evenings during the week as Eastenders does.) What's odd about this is Fox had actually worked with one of the long-time Eastenders writers on a US version of Eastenders a year or 2 ago but didn't pick it up.
