I fastforwarded through the island stuff..can't stand this Duck guy...and the Gabby and Belle stuff was boring..who cares if Belle is going to make a phone call? Celeste and EJ was okay, but nothing too exciting..It was nice hearing EJ call her Francesca though..I remember caroline used to call her that in the past as well...

My favorite part was obviously Marlena taking down Steve twice, great stuff...and i also liked Billie's scenes with Marlena and Kayla...Who knows when the next time we'll see Marlena will be though, haven't heard her in the spoilers....And tomorrows show looks extremely boring....I kind of wish we would have gotten some Bo and Hope this week...Maybe a few scenes of them in their burnt house checking the damage...Just to continue on with the arson storyline...But continuity isn't a big thing for Hogan lately...

Oh, I do have to agree with you on one thing though: I LOVE DUCK!!!:wub:

Didn't think I would, but he really is like the lovable island grouch from those movies. (Whichever ones.)

He's a grouch whose "bark is worse than his bite," as Gabby says -- again, a CLASSIC movie description of a character.

I just love Duck, and Gabby too! I like the way Joy Bisco talks. Does that make sense? I can't explain it, but there's something in her voice.

You know what I find funny? That SO many people were convinced that Celeste was setting Sami up. Well, folks, today proved that's not the case, and Cellie's not in cahoots with EJ -- and if she is, the dialogue writers all should be fired for convincing us firmly of things being otherwise.

But let's talk about your comment, Kev...who cares if Belle makes a phone call? Well, for one, SHAWN DOES. Which is why Belle and Gabby were STUPID to think that "no one would see" them in the BAR, where everyone GOES, to make a phone call!

TALK ABOUT CONTRIVED!!!

Hogan, you've done it again!!!

Well, I hope that Celeste is ready for a storm, because she is going to be struck by lightning for lying to EJ. She never should have said may lighting strike her down.

I am unsure if I think EJ was behind Lexie and Tek's disappearance, but she is definatly not dead. Her family, the DiMera's, has her hiding out somewhere.

I can actually say I enjoyed Marlena today. It has been a very long time. I laughed when she used the pepper spray on Steve.

    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
    • My hunch is what you've described. JFP is likely back working on transitioning the show to a new studio and embracing new technology for its production model.
