The Futon Critic does an annual list of its top 50 episodes in prime time. Here is the link for what they have listed so far:

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx

This got me thinking. Here are some of my picks for best episodes:

1. Battlestar Galactica: Exodust Parts 1 & 2

Not only did they blow their special effects budget on that amazing rescue scene, the show runners pulled out all the emotional tricks to prove that this is not only the best Sci-fi show on TV but the best Drama on TV. Period.

2. Weeds: Pittsburg

Cliffhangers done the way no soap has every done... This delightfully twisted but perfect ensembe drama one of the most underrated cast on TV. Lead by Mary Louise Parker, this pisode brought the whole season to a head when the drug-deal goes wrong.

3. West Wing: Tomorrow

A more fitting tribute could not have been written by Sorkin himself. An uplifting sendoff for the characters and actors who dealt with the most serious issues plaguing the World showed that, despite the weight of it all, these people are truly remarkable public servants.

4. Boston Legal: Race Ipsa

When Denny shoots his therapist we, the audience, are taken for the best ride yet. With quotes like this one, who could ask for more... "Denny: Canada, Japan, England. Any number of those pinko countries. I'd be in jail for shooting somebody.

Alan: God bless America"

5. The Office: Gay Witch Hunt

Hil-ari-ous.

6. Scrubs: My Lunch

I personally think season 5 was the best so far and this episode demonstrates why. Dr. Cox tries so hard to stop patients from dying as the show blends comedy and drama like no other.

7. Desperate Housewives: Bang

If Weeds can deliver the most underrated cast the DH delivers the most overrated... but with good cause. Everyone showed up in this episode, arguably the best episode of the series, and we lost the most annoying character ever: Nora.

8. Grey's Anatomy: End of the World...

I liked the shower scene teaser and that might have been enough to make my list regardless but the whole episode sustained a type of hyper-intensity that kept everyone coming back for more.

9. Prison Break: Go

They did it, they did it... the f*ck'n finally did it. They made it over the wall in this episode that had me testing my blood pressure just to make sure it was healthy enough to keep up with this episode. Intense.

24: 6:00-7:00PM

Edgar's death was heartbreaking and so much fun to watch. I still contend that 24 jumped the shark last season but this episode was good.

10. Veronica Mars: Not Pictured

Veronica Mars at her Best.

11. Lost: Live Together, Die Alone

Best Episode of a stellar season brought about by the best flashback story since Locke and the truth the hatch revealed.

12. Lost: Two for the Road

Ana-Lucia and Libby met Michael for the last time... and does Jack have have sister? Just goes to show that no actor should get drunk and drive after the xmas party.

13. Entourage: Sorry, Ari

Perfect season ender with great zingers and, as always, Ari working on the ledge... I almost felt sorry for him when Vince pushed him over.

1. "Pilot," FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (NBC)

I have never seen a television series episode filled with so much emotion from happiness, sadness, shock, faith, hope... add some of the best performances on all of television... perfect.

2. "Occupation/Precipice," BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (SCIFI)

I didn't know where they were going after the season 2 finale, but they knocked it out of the park with the season 3 premiere.

3. "Exodus (Part 2)," BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (SCIFI)

Breathtaking.

4. "Casino Night," THE OFFICE (NBC)

Amazing. Everyone was featured, hilarious episode... and Jim/Pam was icing on the cake.

5. "Spit & Eggs," VERONICA MARS (CW)

After a so-so conclusion to season 2 and the beginning of season 3, the "fall finale" was going on all cylinders.

6. "Dennis & Dee Get a New Dad," IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA (FX)

Sheer brilliance. Perfect season finale. Absolutely hilarious

7. "In the Time of Dying," SUPERNATURAL (CW)

Emotional and exciting.

8. "Full Hearts," FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (NBC)

One of the best of an excellent season so far.

9. "Fallout," HEROES (NBC)

No holding back. An absolute, edge of your seat episode.

10. "Gay Witch Hunt," THE OFFICE (NBC)

Hilariously uncomfortable.

    • Nope still in development. ABC/Disney are having their upfronts today though, so there's a very slight hope we might get an update.
    • Has anyone ever posted January and February 1974? I can't find them in the 'Look Back to 75' thread. Thanks.
    • Did January and February 1974 DSN ever get posted? I can't seem to find it in this thread.
    • I agree. Especially after SilkPress got back to her apartment and started to mock Nicole. Her dislike for Nicole and seeing her as a threat to her getting Teddy Bear is growing worse. So I could see her pulling a kidnapping on Nicole at some point. If anything she was going there to poke the bear and got pressed (pun unintended) when the bear gathered her.   Completely understandable.

    • I swear this entire time I thought Roman knew about the Phillip/Vivian letter lol.  I do like how mature Roman/Kate are as a couple.  It makes me sad the new writers never got a chance to write for John/Marlena. I agree with @AbcNbc247 that the Felicity stuff is a bit after school special-y.  I am pretty sure that (most) of the viewing audience is aware that a grown man should not be shouting at any teenage girl especially one with disabilities.  Just let Xander apologize and move on. Linsey Godfrey was in her Sarah baby voice mode today and it irritates me to no end.   I know it's a cutesy thing her and Xander do but it's annoying. Bringing Kevin back is strange, but I do like the use of history.  I do think Rex probably could have been used instead, but whatever.  I don't care about Rex much either lol.
    • I mean over the past decades. But I do agree that in recent years now, the writing is not working for them as well as it used to then. It's same old, same old...which is what made the Damian storyline refreshing. At least for me.
    • Did Denise give any interviews where she talked about her first few years on GH... '73-75? I wonder if she had any regrets leaving Days for GH, as from what I've read, the show was in the dumps writing-wise, so am thinking she didn't have great story? Any Leslie story highlights I've seen always start with '76, after Gloria Monty took charge.
