I got to fulfill a 25 year old dream

Okay, call me a fan-geek if you will, but everyone has a list of things they want to do before they die. One of the things on my list was to see Olivia Newton-John in concert. Most people know I'm a mega fanboi of ONJ going all the way back to my childhood (a fandom that's existed for 25 years so far). Well, last Saturday night Olivia was in concert in Louisville backed by the Louisville Orchestra and I *finally* got to see her in concert. OMG! It was awsome! She sang *all* my favorite songs all the way from 'I Honestly Love You' to 'Hopelessly Devoted to You' to 'Xanadu' to 'Twist of Fate'. She sang to a sold out, packed house and put on one hell of a show. During 'Xanadu' (with full orchestra), they played clips from the film on the screen behind her. Ditto for 'You're the One That I Want' from Grease and she and her backup singer (singing the John Travolta part) even did the dance from the carnival funhouse from the movie! The last song (before the encore which featured IHLY), she led the audience in a 'Summer Nights' singalong with the words on the screen behind her karioke style! The audience was going crazy! To top it all off, I went with the guy I've been crushing on majorly since June. *sigh* It was an amazing evening. If she's *ever* within driving distance again (she goes on tour nearly every year), I'm so going to be there. Even if you're only a casual ONJ fan, if you get a chance to see her in concert, GO! It's a fun, fun show.

So happy for you Matt. I have loved her since childhood too. I love all her rock stuff and esp. her early country stuff too. And I have seen everyone of her movies.

Right behind her with that love is Linda Ronstadt and then Pat Benatar.

Way to go Matt...Congrats.

What a random dream...but fun.

But isn't she like 67 though?

J/K...You can wipe that look off your face now...

Just just turned 58 on September 26, thankyouverymuch, and looks fabulous for her age.

Sincere congratulations to you Matt! I too have been a lifelong fan of Olivia Newton-John. I skipped Kindergarten more than once to stay home & watch her concert on HBO. I had the headband. I'd blowdry my hair to be like Olivia's for the concert. I was beyond obsessed. I've also seen all of her movies and love her to this day. I'm hoping she comes to Florida for a show anywhere, because I'm SO THERE!!!

Your excitement is infectious!

I think it's cool that you got the opportunity to attend a ONJ concert. I bet you were beside yourself. LOL! I know you're a huge fan. Congrats!
