MULTI-PLATINUM POP SINGER PINK PERFORMS "NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" OPENING MUSIC

Grammy Award-Winning Artist Sings "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" Set to Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You"

NEW YORK August 30, 2006 Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist, Pink, collaborated with NBC Sports to create the opening song for "NBC Sunday Night Football," "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," debuting Sunday, Sept. 10, NBC's first Sunday Night Football broadcast featuring Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts versus little brother Eli Manning of the New York Giants. A special version of the song, "Waiting All Year for Opening Night" will air Thursday, Sept. 7 as the 2006 NFL season kicks off on NBC with the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Miami Dolphins.

Pink, known for such chart-topping hits as "Get the Party Started," from her best-selling sophomore album, M!ssundaztood, which sold 16 million copies worldwide, will get the football party started in homes across America every Sunday Night for "NBC Sunday Night Football." The open is set to the original Joan Jett song, "I Hate Myself for Loving You," with new lyrics (complete lyrics follow).

"This song sums up what Sunday Night Football is all about the big game." said Fred Gaudelli, "NBC Sunday Night Football" producer. "A football fan knows the anticipation of waiting all day for the big game. When you hear this song on Sunday nights you'll know the big game is about to kickoff.

"We chose Pink as the signature voice because she is a tremendous talent with a crossover appeal that makes her relevant to all segments of our audience. And she's from Philly, so she knows what being a football fan is all about."

"Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" marks the artist's first official collaboration with NBC Sports, and was recorded at Blue Jay Studios in Carlisle, Mass. As Pink's voice serves as the signature welcome to viewers each Sunday Night, the accompanying video features Pink. The video was shot at City Studios in New York City.

"This is something so different for me, it's like hearing yourself on the radio for the first time," said Pink. "I'm such a huge football fan that it's a great time."

Pink broke onto the music scene in 2000 with the release of her first album, Can't Take Me Home, which quickly made its way onto the American Top 40 album charts and earned double-platinum status for sales with the top-ten hits "There U Go," "Most Girls," and "You Make Me Sick." She was also named Billboard Magazine's Best New Female Artist in 2000. In 2001, Pink sang on a remake of the 1970s Patti LaBelle hit "Lady Marmalade" for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack with R&B artists Christina Aguilera, Mya and Lil' Kim. The piece was named MTV's Best Video of the Year and Best Video from a Film. "Lady Marmalade" became Pink's first number-one hit and earned the Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in 2002. Pink continued to climb the Billboard Top 100 charts with singles from her next two albums, M!ssundaztood and Try This, earning her second Grammy Award for best female rock vocal performance for "Trouble" in 2004. "Get the Party Started" was the lead-off single of M!ssundaztood, and quickly went top five in the U.S., while hitting No. 1 in Germany, Ireland, Australia and Russia. The song helped fuel the success of the album, which is Pink's top selling album to date, with 16 million copies sold worldwide. "Get the Party Started" also earned Pink her third Grammy nomination for best pop vocal performance. In April 2006, Pink released her fourth album, I'm Not Dead, and the album's first single, "Stupid Girls" quickly earned a spot in the Top 20 and was won an award for Best Pop Video in MTV's 2006 VMAs. To date, Pink has sold a total of 18.5 million records wordwide.

Transcript of Sunday Night Football theme song follows.

LYRICS: "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night"

All right Sunday Night where are you?

Just kicking back from the things that you do

You want the Big Game, we want it too!

Hey Jack it's a fact, the best show in town,

Sunday Night Football we ain't messing around

Al and John will make you crank up the sound

The NFL's best have come to play

For every fan there's just one thing left to say, ay, ay, ay

I've been waiting all day for Sunday Night

The tough get rough in a primetime fight

The last one standing gets to turn out the lights

Cause I been waiting all day for Sunday Night

Sunday Night Football on NBC

The only game that you have to see

Don't need a ticket, all you need's a TV

Cause the NFL rocks on NBC

Well, she's certainly butch enough to do the theme song to Football.

Gosh, I wish there were more orchestrated, champion-like themes on networks like Roundball Rock or the theme to the Road to the Final Four.

Hearing "Let's Get It Started" the first time the NBA was on ABC really hurt me. Something about Roundball Rock has just continued to resonate with me to this day. Perfect sports theme.

    • That was the original point of me sending you her 6 airdates, so now with those, and the link to the daily episode guide I've provided, that should help you more easily find the additional Ruth Buzzi scenes. I will always repeat myself when it comes to defending my data that I've taken decades to research and compile. But, as you pointed out in a recent post, I am kind, so at least I will do it with you in a kind way as opposed to the usual social media way most people do with just getting rude/nasty. That's not my style, as you correctly pointed out earlier this week, and never will be.  So, all is well!

    • Ambyr Michelle continues to be *that girl.* She’s just a star, period. Elevates every scene she’s in on the sheer strength of her emotional realism and charisma. Can sell any dialogue. I wish the show veered away from the B&B-style scripting. TMG/Leslie’s tirade stood out, I suppose, but she’s getting a bit mustache-twirly. And I wish DD had more to do in that episode than stand and sob.
    • Well, that was down to CBS being weak and not being willing to just pulling the plug entirely. They didn't want to commit to cancelling the show in case they needed it for their schedule basically; plus they kept showing that they were willing to make cuts if needed to be.
    • I'm sorry but clearly what I've said is not satisfactory to you. I have now read what you have to say, twice. As it happens, my interest at this point is looking at other mislabeled files to find this other Ruth Buzzi content. I do not see any point to each of us repeating ourselves, so I will leave it here.
    • It seemed to be your intent. coming into a thread I started and making multiple posts saying my data was wrong. In the next paragraph you say "Of course, I was suspicious from the very first instance where what I saw & heard did not agree with what it should have.  I'm very glad to know why." That certainly didn't stop you from immediately saying the data was wrong, until I provided additional receipts. Why did you not check the daily episode guide (for instance, this one for the 1980's) I posted for the world to see for exactly this reason...to help confirm airdates: http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1980-1989-t15361.html? That is what you should be checking BEFORE you make any posts in the future like this, trying to suggest something from my data is incorrect. You could have also messaged me and asked me why your dates weren't adding up with what the correct data is. I would have fast forwarded through that video you posted, spotted Roman and Hope and immediately have told you that was the 11/1/83 episode.
    • Jason, just let me say that it was not my intent to any way impugn any of your data  or research. I'm very sorry if it came out that way. Obviously the person I got these 4 November episodes from has mislabeled files, multiples, which I was certainly unaware of.  When I am editing it is all about what I see & hear. Later, I find time for greater reflection.  Of course, I was suspicious from the very first instance where what I saw & heard did not agree with what it should have.  I'm very glad to know why.  If you find you are no longer interested in the edit, that is fine. I have no ego in this. I did it only to share it.
    • I feel like Vernon and Anita need to not be hypocrites and try and take the heat off Bill in this case. It's clear that the family used him as a fixer and especially knowing he helped with Martin's situation, they need to either be quiet or support him. BTW...with Vanessa being in the hospital for food poisoning, am I the only one who thought Shanice was gonna say she's pregnant or had an STD? The only reason I say STD is because she hasn't had any memorable sex partners, but I definitely don't believe she just had food poisoning.
    • Yeah, I mean I know that the name still pertains. I just laugh at it not now being called Arizona Dust, but, I admit it simply does not have the same ring to it. Above, that is interesting that Arizona had already come up before the crisis.
    • Anita vs. Leslie, bring it!
    • Leslie and her family are from Chicago? Anita's background also includes being a former Chi-Town native? Might they connect this and go somewhere with it?
