  1. Well... Dallas is going to be aerial sprayed with insecticide whether everyone likes it or not. Republican mayor.. I thought they were all about freedom? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505269_162-57494331/west-nile-virus-dallas-declares-state-of-emergency/
  2. Max, Bob Dole's close relationship with Nixon is what killed him in the election. No matter what you can say, people think "Birds of a feather flock together", and people also didn't consider him "likeable".
  3. There are people now that say Obama only got into office in the first place because he's HALF white.
  4. I truly think Obama will win. Truth be told, Christians are scared to DEATH to vote for a Mormon. I can tell you Baptists consider Mormonism a cult.
  5. Yes, and how ridiculous... Talk show hosts laughed an guffawed ENDLESSLY about "Obama giving the queen a DVD she couldn't play", when these MORONS all have no clue that the VAST majority of DVD players, all except the cheapest of the cheap sold in the UK and Europe WILL IN FACT play an american DVD. The reverse is not true... but in the UK and Europe, your'e good to go 95 percent of the time with an American DVD.
  6. Those are some really good points, ones that I hadn't considered before.
  7. Carl, I forget which season it was that Greg had the liver transplant., it was basically purchased.., and I remember watching the scene where Claudia had arranged it, and you heard the person who was supposed to get it crying after the doctor made up some BS excuse. I can't remember if Greg KNEW it had been bought, or if that was all Claudia that did it.. I'm thinking it was all her, and he didn't know. That was another thing that made me HATE Claudia... that smirk she had on her face in that scene when the Doctor was telling the other recipient that they weren't getting the liver. And I know "The Lie" was heavy, but that's what I really LIKE... stuff that is dark, psychological.. and serious as a heart attack.
  8. You didn't care for "The Lie"? !! Why? It was one of the most brilliant of the whole series. So dark and psychological. Connie just totally hit a home run with the bases loaded in her performances.
  9. Why do they make you angry, Carl? Granted, it was not nearly as good as seasons 1-6.. but I thought the Ann homeless thing was interesting, Michelle Phillips crying in her reflection in the storw window was awesome. And I LOVED Karen's road rage cliffhanger. I just identify with her, she wants everything to be nice, and good, and fair, but when soemthing sets her off... she goes NUCLEAR. The boy driving the car is killed, and the scene in the hospital where the boy's mother confronts her is so painful and raw.
  10. haha!! Glad you got to see it unspoiled. That scene damn near gave me heart failure at the age of 16! When they were chasing him through the parking lot, and then I LOVED how Karen backed the cherokee out and T-Boned Ackerman to stop him from fleeing. I was convinced when he reached for that gun, that he was gonna try and shoot Mac, but the suicide thing was totally unexpected. And how well shot was that? If this had been today, they have showed his brains splattered all over the place and made it graphic and sickening. But back then, the reaction of horror on Mac and Karen's faces were much more effective. Now... when it comes to stand alone episodes, I think "Man Of The Hour" was pretty good. It gave more insight into Ginger's family, and although it was kind of an afterschool special type of thing, it worked.
  11. Wow, a perfect example of the republican mindset. Mt stupid brother in law was just bitching this morning abo0ut how the government was corrupt and robbing him of the money he EARNED because he had to pay 52% income tax several years ago on 1 MILLION dollars of income. Oh BOO FREAKIN HOO. I told him I would be more than happy to pay 50 percent income tax if I made 500,000$ a year. He said "No you wouldn't", and I emnphtically said "YES I WOULD". He's ultra religious, I wanted to say "Yes I would, because I don't worship money and material posessions". He's got his panties all in a bunch cause he's been unemployed for over a year now, and is having to live on his savings. Oh, poor baby. If he wasn't such an asshat, then companies wouldn't be so quick to get rid of him when the chips are down.
  12. REally? For some reason I could have sworn she came on in season 3.
  13. Since season 3 involves Lisa Hartman singing.. I imagine licensing issues are a problem here. The effing publishing coimpanies, in the wake of the collapse of the CD market, are trying to grub every penny they can from TV and film licensing, charging insane amounts for song licensing (like 400$ per SECOND) I would love nothing better than a Knots continuation, and having Brian Austin Green and Tonya Crowe be the main stars of it. Tonya Crowe can carry a show, Brian.. not so much, but that can be worked around. And cast completely new people to be Bobby and Betsy. I would STILL have a widowed Karen and Abby still living in the cul-de-sac. Have Meg be living there with Karen... she could be in college or something. Karen and Abby feuding would be great TV. Even bring Jeff of all people back into the mix to cause drama with Abby.
  14. Although I preferred Hilary over Obama because of her experience, I ended up voting for Obama because I DID like many of the things he said, and of course, the health care issue, and I knew that McCain's mind is on war and the military 24/7, so I knew he'd spend every dime of taxpayer dollars on military bullsh!t and let the roads and bridges fall down, and let people die for lack of treatment.
  15. I don't think it's stupidity, I think it's voting for who you can identify with. I think every person in the country does that, unless the candidate is blatantly against your best interest. That's why all the rich waspy snobs will vote for Romney, why all the Bubbas voted for Bill Clinton, why all the military brats and "glory of war" war freaks voted for Mccain. It's just birds of a feather flocking together.
  16. What a shame she didn't have a hit recording career:
  17. Carl, that was toward the very end of her run... Look what somebody finally uploaded! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIRvQLhfbuM I SO wish that this was the episode where Michael Corbett lost it in the winner's circle when "Things that are stiff" came up in the top box. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I see, to remember him giving the clue "an excited man"... or something like that. they never used that category again.
  18. Cheap... that photo of Joan IS incredible... so much so that I felt the need to color correct it, sometimes these old shots need a little restoration:
  19. From my favorite show, Joan looks so stunningly beautiful here. Production designer Keith Wilson who designed her look said she was the most gorgeous woman he had ever worked with, that her skin and figure were extraordinary. I think this might be the only time in her career that she played a cannibal. At least she was a civilized and glamorous cannibal! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcZtx-V3YY8
  20. Yes.... the other one is April.
  21. Guess what I managed to snag!!! for 12 bucks no less! these are hard puppies to find:
  22. Amen.
  23. It's just a truth that today's youth do not WANT to see. The last 15 years or so is one of the first time in history that mainstream youth has mimicked the look, mannerisms, and dress of the criminal element. And society has just looked the other way because they are too damn scared that someone is going to call them a racist, and it's having tragic outcomes for these kids. When I was growing up, young people did not aspire to emulate the criminal element. And like it or not, the criminal element has always had a certain look... soemtimes it's accurate, sometimes not, but it EXISTS..But kids did not strive to look like that. Here's the look of the Pimp from that time: And now look at these kids, are any of these kids dressed like that? you want to talk smacking of negativity, 95 percent of the entire rap/ hip hop culture is compeltely BASED on negativity and misogyny.
  24. To answer your question: http://weblogs.balti...police_was.html And once again, nobody it's saying the clothes are compeltely at fault, it's a contirbuting factor. So many things are contributing factors to this problem, and many of the older generation are sick and tired of seeing everything they worked and marched, and sometimes DIED for slip through their fingers because the young kid want to act like punks, and if they are good kids, they still want to LOOK like punks. I ain't the only one who thinks this:
