  1. LOL at Bev & the kind of look only she could give aimed at Buzz, a trifling individual if ever there were one in Springfield!
  2. One difference: twins by two different fathers, a story of sexual activity, whereas Brent/Marian Nadine was murdered. No death was required for one story. And, agree, I totally hate the use of rape as if it is a viable plot point or story element. Plus, we know soaps have overused it.
  3. I think I would reach for Brent/Marion. Both stories crossed lines, just different lines.
  4. So, in those instances, you're saying they used B roll? I am fascinated by these details & I love that y'all both have such distinct detailed recollections!!!
  5. A friend of mine once played a real estate agent on the show. I was able to provide her with clips of herself on the show for her professional reel. She does mostly regional things but this was different. I recall she showed Natalia a house. That is so neat!!! Give me the link. Please.
  6. And, I was so furious with Conboy for costing us many more months we could have had her!!! It really was weird, occupationally speaking. We had plenty of cops. And, we had plenty in journalism, too. Then, we add in hospitality, between the Beacon & Company. It's just a stupid move in these small towns to only have one attorney. There should be a soap rule that you have to have at least two - one on the defense's side & one for the prosecution's side, right? @MLHI was thinking about you & about Iris. Really there were 3, not 2. Bev played Iris on AW & then Bev played Iris on Texas & they ended up being substantially different. Then, of course, on AW, Iris was played (Wonderfully I might add) by Carmen Duncan. In my Rumble account I have plenty of examples of the first two. And, You-Tube has a lot of the last.
  7. Wasn't Joan Collins a surprise? She was to me. I was prepared for the worst. Then, she was delightful & I understand a really hard worker.
  8. Since the wake-up Lulu has had zero problems with Carly. So, that's at least one down. Obviously many to go. And that list seems to be growing. No, not glowing, that would be a different show altogether. This, to me, wins line of the week, no month! Yes, month is correct. Week, too little. I've been thinking about their vows, Come up with this. It's only a start. Drew, do you take this ho to be your ho?
  9. You say that like it's a bad thing. Romper Room taught young children valuable lessons. Did they not have Do-Bee and Don't-Be? Wrong and right? Well, not exactly in the desired order.
  10. Really? I'd say that they have a great deal more that could be said about them. I know it's not a new thing, first cousins, half-first cousins, kissing cousins, the thing is taboo or not, they were incredibly popular. You cannot say that about most of these inappropriate storylines. Here, are you speaking of Bianca's rape? At the time I just could NOT believe they were going there. I mean I get it & as I like to say McT was the anti-Agnes so naturally, of course, she'd want to play out every single lesbian trope & the more beloved Bianca became, the more terrible things had to befall her. So, of course, she became pregnant from the rape & yes, of course, she would determine that she wanted to keep the baby.
  11. There was such need for just that, so many years! That's on Paul Rauch's head that we (AW) lost Maeve but GL got her. At the time it was seen as a remedy or solution. Today it would not. She played Angie Perrinni, Joey's sister.
  12. That's a different Iris. I'm getting some clips for him. Of Beverlee as Iris, not Carmen. Carmen, at this point would just confuse things. Check your PM.
  13. Oh, I bet you're right. No problem, he would be someone else. I wonder who?
  14. OMG!!! We must rectify this. You mean you never watched any of AW? I guess not. I think you'd really like Iris. Interesting is probably the most correct word. Really, he would have been overmatched.
  15. What an amazing reply!!! And, you are so right. Not at all like Iris's obsession with Daddeeeee. But, still, a father thing. So, do we think their father was a monster? Possibly not. Another amazing reply!!!! I really am intrigued about this edit thing. Can you explain?
  16. @MLHWell, to me, it's a problem to try to talk about Alex and Iris. I think of them as very different, separate, individual characters. The only thing I think they have in common is that they are both strong women. Iris is defined by her Daddy complex & Alex doesn't have one.
  17. Back the end of March But it may have been more about "neurotic" and not actually said "man-eater". Frankly, I didn't even understand, so I probably should just forget about it. You know 'fuggetabuotit". Members Posted March 31 I think the writers were morphing Alex into BM's previous character, Iris. By making Alex more neurotic toward the men in her life -- sons, husbands, love interests, etc., and using those neurosis as her main motivations. BM may have felt that Alex was becoming as difficult to play as Iris had been on Another World. And this would have been more challenging to sustain for the actress. Just my opinion.
  18. Am I mistaken or does this go hand in hand with what I quoted from HER STORIES? I recall as an NBC fan that we, not being stupid, felt that something was awry on our soaps. At DAYS we could list everyone who had been raped & it was almost everyone. Those who had not, it had at a minimum been "attempted." Later, at AW, we noticed the same thing start happening. What I am suggesting is that these two posts confirm each other & they're both about violence against women & NBC soaps. Edit to add: Maybe someone thought that I was giving Swajeski a pass. No, what I am doing is blaming both!
  19. Thanks for the info, especially about Soap Central. Noted. BTW, Mike was so pleased to get this correction! He joins us in caring about correct info.
  20. That is so weĺl said. And also well thought out. I'm not sure what my expectations were but they were only met in the sense of the dread Body & Soul being gone & what initially seemed like more usual writing. Then, sorta nothing. Wait. Are we making a hit man out of that beautiful specimen or is he just having a really bad day? Just feel the need to clarify, ya know.
  21. Me either. Also never thought she was a neurotic man-eater either.
