  1. If you think it will trigger you, it probably will. I think it is one of the most intense pieces of drama ever done for daytime. Robert & Eden were good. Robert & Quinn was one of the fine examples of Roscoe Born's work, RIP.
  2. When LW was cast as Carly I was really surprised and I could not imagine her as Carly. Part of that surprise was that she was leaving GL at all & that she was moving to the West Coast. But it was pretty clear that she had made a good deal for herself, which she had! There was a part of Cassie that was a hootchie mama that I don't see in Carly but for the most part, she just inhabited Carly, early on & quickly & that was something that grew. And, now, despite what a huge fan I am of SJB & of TB, LW is now my favorite Carly. (I have a parallel situation with ATWT & GH because Maura West is more Ava to me than Carly Tenney.)
  3. Now, you really watched what I call a "custom" version of SB since you completely blocked out the rape, the biggest storyline of, what, two years? You did yourself a favor. It is SO hard to watch. Well, good for you. It really is a case of being force-fed! Your resistance must have been strong! SB to a large degree was couples - Cruz & Eden, Julia & Mason, Lionel & Augusta, to name some.
  4. Now, that is very interesting. You're the first person I've heard of who watched SB & didn't like Cruz & Eden. They were thought to be fool-proof, basically! It's only right that there should be an "Other" option besides Fan.
  5. Hope & Bo's dialog, hugging, kissing, touching each other's faces, Hope with this huge Second Chance ticket. Hope turning & seeing Zach, no longer 5 years old, but a young adult man. Dancing. Tonight. I celebrate my love with you. I wish I had a clock on this scene as it is SO long. More dialog, good-bye for now but we will be together forever. And, as Bo is beginning to cry, Hope goes back through the double doors. I'm going to have to watch today's episode a second time.
  6. 🤣 Of course, BWA AH HA, James Cromwell!
  7. I agree about Reg & his money but I thought Larry Lau fit in well, although I don't honestly remember him this early on. I found a picture of Oliver Cromwell & Anna Stuart yesterday & thought I'd share it.
  8. How did Jamey get from being a soap journalist to being a soap writer?
  9. An anecdote from a Locher Room chat with Nancy Curlee & Stephen Demorest: Jordan got Hamp to go with him to this party. (They were friends.) When they got there, because Hamp was a black man they wouldn't serve him. Jordan said, "We are going, right now, we're leaving." Somebody who did not know Hamp asked what was up & Jordan told him & he said, "I cannot believe you are going to leave the party because they won't serve you ham."
  10. BITD we were posting quite a lot & we thought about what we were watching & we complained, of course, but like when it was so good at GH with Wendy Riche & Claire Labine, we knew we were having it good, but I don't think anybody had any idea how bad it could get. Do you?
  11. DOOL C GH C Y&R don't watch B&B don't watch This month I mark both DOOL & GH better, improved, etc.
  12. Oh-oh, sad. RIP. Thnx for posting. OLTL too. Not finding a pic.
  13. Thnx! That makes perfect sense that it would be that.
  14. This is such fun! But, hey, I don't think I remember a Dot Com. And, what was the name of the place Nick had? And, what were the two places where poetry was read? Tom was such a beat daddio! I will never forget Bo #2 & Carly at the Cheatin' Heart. There they sizzled but they may have been too hot for Standards & Practices.
  15. Beyond Salem S2E3 "A Wedding and a Gala" I did a recap again.
  16. I'm on FB daily. I don't even know anyone but maybe one cousin who still smokes. Everybody I know used to smoke but quit. If they had panda ears, they'd be optional. They're more likely to post pictures of flowers, this word game they play religiously, food they're about to eat & always their cats and dogs. This one cousin taught his cat to fetch cigarette wrappers. Sounds odd but it really was an interesting trick.
  17. NO! Not a bit of it. There's not even a decent place to get Jan Spears a greasy, drippy cheeseburger! No amenities. It is very stimulating. It may even be over-stimulation. Everything is happening to a fast metronome, or to Bob Fosse finger snaps, maybe. They say that it was Gloria Month's habit to stand nearby & snap her fingers to remind her worker bees to keep the pace up. Everybody here is on pace!
  18. Oh, no, a flashback faux pas! Some editor screwed up. I'm glad you're having fun. I am, too. Heaven's not bugging me. Frankly, I was having trouble seeing Bo in white t-shirt & white jeans but now, today, that seems okay, too. Paul & Andrew are just so cute together!
  19. Well, ruh-roh! Not everyone is having as good a time as I am. Hate that. Beyond Pleased, I remain, a temporary citizen of Peacock.
  20. ^^^^THIS^^^^ Yes! Chez Rouge. I loved all of the restaurants from BITD. And, I loved all of the live entertainment when they had it. The sets were always so well dressed & the extras were good & there were enough of them. Good memories.
  21. Beyond Salem S2E3 "A Gala and a Wedding" 😲 WOW! What an episode! 10:30 on a Wed. morning & I've just watched a dynamite episode to its amazing conclusion.
  22. What was the name of that place? That was a neat place. I like a lot of scenes with this EJ in them. I think he is a good scene partner & is well-written & well-acted. And generally I just like Nicole. I thought we would see some of moving into the hacienda. Blast!
  23. I do this thing that I call "Lingering Questions". I've been doing it forever it seems. Started out with a question I wondered about or a question someone else wondered about & I would try to find the answer. If I did it went into a file. If I did not it went into a file. It was about getting information & it was about having fun. The LQs at this time cover AW, AMC, OLTL, PC, ATWT, GL, GH, Y&R, DOOL, Nielsens and Marcia McCabe. Right now LQs has a dozen questions with answers & it has a half dozen without answer. I should share with you that a jingle plays in my head every time I say Lingering Questions. So, LQs is an abbreviation so I don't have to pay the sound guy. Tonight I have for us a new LQ & I already have found its answer. A new LQ with Answer: Who was the ATWT HW who Switched with Bridget & Jerome Dobson? Maybe it was Doug Marland. Bridget & Jerome were very successful at GL. Among other things they did the Marital Rape S/L where Roger raped Holly. P&G asked them to switch & HW at ATWT & let the ATWT HW come to GL. They didn't really want to but really had no choice in the matter. The story was told without knowing who was the switching HW. But, it was Doug Marland. Dobsons GL Jun 1975-Dec 1979 Dobsons ATWT Jan 7 1980-May 20 1983 Marland ATWT Nov 7 1979-Jan 4 1980 (13 wks only, known upfront) Marland GL 1979-1982 And, as everybody knows Marland went back to ATWT & had impact the likes of which had not been seen in years! Marland ATWT 1985-Mar 6 1993 Should anyone want to see the whole file just tell me where to send it, like PM here or whatever.
  24. Okay, well, I don't mean to offend. When it comes to taste in fashion I figure there's a reason Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors of ice cream! We like a lot of different things. I go with YMMV there too.
  25. Well, thank you for good thoughts but I must correct an impression. I didn't rule any roost on Usenet & I don't rule any roost now. I've always been a follower, not a leader.
