Well, Bill Bell did make a deal that enabled him to go ahead & start writing Y&R even though Corday was against it. Still, it was crazy that he had to write both DOOL and Y&R for two years! Yes, this is one of my Minority Opinions. I don't think Avery is all that & a bag of chips. Hate the hood & the lurking in the hood. One thing she has is writing. They just write her as getting away with everything. And I can't stand those huge white sneakers she wears. Make her feet look like Bart's The Simpsons.

I think he has a bad case, some might say terminal, of nervous laughter & he is in dire need of an acting coach to get him out of his bad habits but as far as I can tell DOOL doesn't DO acting coaches, more's the pity. So, I don't think they are "smirks" but I do think they exist & are bad. Does that help? Explaining myself helped?

Love hearing you talk about it. In the earlier years there's no doubt that the double wallop of Benson & Stabler was what made the show! Also love Fin & Tunie (of course, of ATWT fandom). A couple of years ago Jill Lorie Hurst, one of GL's final years co-HWs & her writing partner did an episode, which was rare, that they let anyone else outside their regular writers' stable pen one & GL's Tom Pelphrey was in it, too. I've just done an examination of the ratings for 20 years of ratings, beginning with 1969-1970 and ending with 1988-1989. I paid attention to all ABC soaps, all Debuts, all Final Seasons, all bottom rated and Y&R and AW. GH was never the bottom rated soap. GH was also never the lowest rated ABC soap. GH was 10th of 19; 6th of 17; 2nd of 17; 4th of 17; 5th of 16; 8th of 14; 10th of 14; 10th of 15; 9th of 14; 2nd of 14; 1st of 13; 1st of 13; 1st of 15; 1st of 14; 1st of 14; 1st of 14; 1st of 13; 1st of 14; 1st of 12; 2nd of 13. And, that last, when GH slipped to 2nd was Y&R's first #1, 1988-1989. The 1970s rankings were 1 ATWT 2 AW and 3 DOOL. The 1980s rankings were 1 GH 2 AMC 3 Y&R and 4 OLTL. One thing that is clear in looking at these 20 years of ratings is that ABC was THE POWERHOUSE of ratings, hands down, CBS & NBC eat your hearts out! Trying to look to imagine what was making ABC think that maybe GH should be either fixed or killed, we have to look at these years: GH was 10th of 19; 6th of 17; 2nd of 17; 4th of 17; 5th of 16; 8th of 14; 10th of 14; 10th of 15; 9th of 14; 2nd of 14; three 10th place, one 9th place and one 8th place. That's gotta be where it came from. I looked up Tom Donovan & he was either a director or a producer (both were said) at GH from 1985-2006. I'll have to find out which he was. Reading 3 of your posts here gave me the ideas I needed to pursue to learn this more about GH during that time. Thnks for the inspiration. I'll take my leave of you now.

I am so confused! I thought I saw a Disney night a couple of seasons ago. Well, brain, way to let me down! If you go to YT & input "DWTS Disney" up pops about 2 dozen choices, Disney night, Disney opening number, Disney this & that. Clearly some distinction is being made. It will be interesting to see if this comes out. At least I am no longer mad at my brain! And, I don't fault Disney for promoting their show however they feel best works. I'm sure there is an explanation.

If I remember correctly the most famous stairways death was on ATWT when a character died falling UP the stairs. Maybe they're going for a new record, something like Omicron Stairs?

So, how about Esme's nanny, Maggie? I've been thinking about Esme's "Hello Daddy, did you miss me?" And what it reminded me of was Beverlee McKinsey's Iris to Mac when she would say, "Daddee". I realize that is big time iconic, are we there?

Well, of course it did. As she is looking at it it is something to give to Chanel, like a gift, to make her happy, not like something they would do as an adventure. Sounds like a chore because it is a task she's setting herself to please her lady. All about the wrong reason. And that's a fact! The frame job on her & the set-up & how very far down the tube she seemed to go with the college against her & the PCPD against her & everyone giving lip service to her with NO ONE actually doing anything for so long was good but she could have played better. I stood up & cheered for Chanel/Johnny/Allie & most of all for big brother Will, who deserves to win Best Big Brother, Salem Young Adult Division! Then, my computer threw up all over & refused to go on. I am just now limping back onto the Internet superhighway. So, Toups told me that he's made me official if I wanna do recaps & I'm finding that I enjoy it so I will continue. It's kinda like if I like the show I like it more & if I dislike the show, well, I'm downright disgusted with it! So, on with the show, DOOL ... tomorrow, something to look forward to or be warned about.

I cannot explain this adequately but I think somehow that the great actress who plays Trina is becoming even more beautiful. The way they light her, or how the light hits her face, it makes her look almost luminescent. She positively glows. She is a real pleasure to watch her act. And I love her reaction to Curtis these days. He's annoying me no end & she gets to act that out!

Oh, yeah, speaking of that, if I recall correctly MV did a stint in the army, got out & immediately did 2 soaps & then went on to do some primetime stuff. It was going right from the army to soaps than gave me pause. But, it gives you another uniform!
