Thanks everyone! I'll keep trying. I am able to hear Taby but not CW. Hooray! FINALLY. Got it. Had to use Jane's idea & drop "mediaviewer" & then it worked like a charm. I knew she & Maura went to the same conservatory at overlapping times. Loved hearing her interp of the scenes. Also liked the caption to a pic about her mom telling CW that last fall Taby & NAC had said they wanted to work with her & CW was, "Really?!!" And, Taby pipes up with, "Yes, really!"

Well, excuse me, but what are you doing in that movie in the first place?!! Aren't you just buying trouble? I guess my biggest pet peeves are either about words or about dogs. Grammatical errors, like the misuse of I or me. But with typos & autocorrects I also can have a sense of humor. It's not a surprise to me that these things bug me. I used to be employed as a proofreader, a copy editor, a technical writer, etc. People who don't clean up after their dogs. People who let their dogs roam off leash in area where it's not appropriate & usually not safe. People who get a dog & then tie it or chain it out back & then ignore it.

Well, I would not *exactly* agree with that. AMC, OLTL, AW, etc. were definitely ensemble shows but at the same time AMC was very much the Erica show, just as AW had Vicky Windham as its star & in a sense it usually was The Rachel show. Same thing with Slezak, Viki, OLTL. And other examples could be provided. Now I would argue that Reva is different. Reva is an instance where one character ate their show. But, it has nothing to do with her being an outsider. It had everything to do with the various PTB & the actress herself. Carly has not eaten GH.

This idea that some people have that there may be a rebooting of classic soaps is so much hooey. Not gonna happen.

I don't know if it's been taken down or what but it's not there, although many of her recordings are still there.

I am amazed that apparently it is impossible to escape this current tsunami of GH Carly hating even when one finds oneself in a Guiding Light thread!

Well, what I think is that Patrick is gonna let Mo continue to be a mobster but he's no longer going to be considered an upstanding citizen. They set him up as this kinda Mobster with a Heart of Gold, to borrow from the Lady of the Night trope, back when Stone & Robin were in love & he cared for & nurtured Stone & Robin & that was a long time ago. Meanwhile I am considering whether I want to ship Chrome (Corinthos + Jerome) and also if I want to ship Drina (Drew + Nina). Perversely I am thinking of adding both.

What I was told by a soap journo who covered it at the time is that old story. There were things she wanted to write but they did not want her to write them. In similar fashion they named things they wanted her to write but she told them that they were impossible & no one could write them. At which point they said that was why they hired her because they thought she could write these stories that no one else could. So they were stuck. The elusive green light.

Agree another great episode. About ME, I have noticed 2 things in the past 4 days. First, he got a haircut! Second, he's actually better. 🤔😲👏 Obviously lots of what we like & don't like is subjective. I really think that hair & clothes may be the most subjective of all. Whisper speaking bugs the whatsit out of me no matter who is doing it! I agree. I definitely think that is the direction they are writing her in. Former mob princess, member of mob family, attracted to the dark side, all of that power, .... but I think she's fallen for him which she did not mean to do. Can't forget her sniffing his cologne in that "powder room" bathroom that Mo has.

You know that they say (the ubiquitous "they") that he is in fact now having much more trouble remembering lines. Seemingly it was always hard for him but now he is regularly being less successful. So, posturing & mumbling could be his way of stalling or covering that he's not got the words he's meant to be saying ready to say them? Is she not telling him about the meds situation because she wants to try to figure out who is behind it, first? Agree about the day but I think NLG had a good day, too, both with Molly & with Finn. Okay, I'll bite. What did you dislike? I'm more tolerant now for 2 reasons: the overall better writing & the feeling that he will die soon.

They have a new Editor-in-Chief over there. Before Diane left, she expressed to me in email very serious frustration with things going on, etc. And I keep seeing new names - not Alina Adams, not Mike Maloney & not Janet Di Lauro. And I keep seeing crap! My understanding is that they have no intention of bringing either her back or any Spencer back. Obviously that is the kind of thing that could change. But they are not part of status quo. Avery's very talented & I could imagine some show hiring her. I took some notes on the Steve/Bradford podcast. I'm excited that he said they are not being in such a rush, taking more time when taping. Daily Drama podcast 4-25-24 Steve: lots of cool things going on with the new writers, who have been with the show for ages. ... Big groups of people again. ... Longer scenes ... used to have 1-2 pages, now 6. ... With the shorter scenes you're not building anything. With the longer scenes you're actually building things. We need this relationally (? unsure of word he used) There's a very nostalgic feel to these changes, the way we used to do things & also not so rushed. ... more time is being taken. ... Carly is brought up by Bradford ... B: Is Jason in love with Carly? Is he going to make a play for her? I'm sure there is more that could be said ... S: Yeah, there's more to come on that. Okay, I never heard or read that. Is that something she said? If not, do you know who said it? I ask because going by what I know was said, (that she said, etc.) that makes no sense LOL! Allow me to try to explain why I think that does not track. She was given the heads-up that they were going to be letting her go 6 months before the time they cut her loose. They do give people "early warning" sometimes. My understanding of why they let her go was because they did not want to redeem her because they liked her as a villain. It's not clear whether they were testing to see if the amnesia would be an effective way to moderate that character or if it was just one long stall until they reached the point on the calendar when they were ready to cut her loose. Calhoun was a Director first. AW was one show he directed. Then EP at ATWT & then EP at GL. You are correct that he didn't show any work after GL. His partner was Farley Granger who was a very famed actor in 7 different decades beginning with the studio system, going through the Playhouse 90 era, doing Broadway & finally ending up on a soap, ATWT. Calhoun & Granger wrote a book together about Granger's life, called Include Me Out: My Life from Goldwyn to Broadway © March 2007. They were notable because they were living openly as a gay couple before most anyone else was out of the closet. Granger claimed he had never been in the closet. He was open about being bisexual decades before most people had even heard of being bisexual. Before meeting Calhoun he had relationships with very famous people, going from Leonard Bernstein to Barbara Stanwyck, etc. at one point. The book is available in kindle, HB & PB editions. These are the credits I have for Calhoun but going by what you've posted here these dates are wrong. As you might know about me, this annoys me no end! I'm going to try to correct these dates. Any information you can provide will be appreciated. He won an Emmy for Best Show for ATWT. He got 3 more nods for ATWT. He got 2 nods for AW. And, he got another 2 nods for GL.
