  1. I admit to being amazed that anyone was tested with Laurel. The majority of AMC fans that I knew were in total agreement in their hatred of all things Laurel. I just remembered that there were fans who wouldn't even write out her name instead just typing "L*". It makes me wonder if she was as bad as we were sure she was.
  2. On January 5, 1993, on GL, Ellen Parker as Mo, delivered my favorite of all lines of soap opera dialogue, “You have reduced us to a ridiculous suburban joke and I will never forgive you for this”. - Mo to Lillian, GL 1-5-1993. Scriptwriter of the day was Courtney Sherman Simon, Headwriter, Nancy Curlee Demorest, Exec Producer, Phelps. GL HW Nancy Curlee when asked if she had any story regrets, "Although Maureen's death was a lynchpin in a carefully conceived, well-executed story, Ellen Parker was so fine & so well loved, that her absence left a hole in the show that was later hard to fill. From this mag: MAUREEN BAUER, WIFE AND MOTHER, DIES Husband's affair cited Renowned Cedars Hospital surgeon Ed Bauer lost more than a patient in early 1993, when his wife Maureen was involved in a fatal car accident. "You have broken my heart" were reportedly the last words she spoke. Maureen had allegedly just learned of her husband's affair with nurse Lillian Raines via a note from the nurse to Ed. After Maureen confronted her friend Lillian, she had an argument with her husband, and then drove over an ice-covered road. Cedars staffers noted that the triage nurse was Lillian. After Maureen died, the shattered Ed approved her organ donation. Maureen left behind a stepson, Rick and a daughter Michelle. Picture caption: A close moment for Lillian and Ed at Cedars.
  3. Yeah, there was no BTS drama about Tom Eplin. There was just the network pushing violence against women & with Jake, it was specifically pushing an action that many fans, including me, think was totally unrealistic according to his character. Jake would not have raped Marley, or anyone else for that matter. Jake was just not a rapist, a bad guy, a villain. He was a blue collar dude with a chip on his shoulder but that's the worst I can dredge up to say about him. Anyway, thanks for replying. Sonny, I've always hated, always will. Reva, not a fan. It's entirely true that there were ATWT fans who resented Jake, Vicky, Cass, Lila, Donna & Marley & the twins.
  4. And, Jordan hurried over & at first it seemed like she was after both guys but it turned out she had like 10% for Cody & 200% for Drew! YES!!!

  6. I love that show but they should be ashamed of themselves!!!
  7. I was more or less fooling around rather than being very serious. But, certainly did not mean to put you on the spot. You do make a good point, though. I don't think any of us are volunteering to see or read nastiness or ugliness.
  8. I am amazed that Kristina is hosting a reopening of Charlie's on Wed!!!
  9. It's not like it's a rule or anything. But, how is it if you're not new that you didn't know about Jake raping Marley? And, to @chrismlI would ask you, when you wrote Jake off, which is totally fair to do with a rapist, did you know about the controversy where it is suggested that it was totally OOC to write that Jake did so?
  10. The mag I mentioned, here are some of the photos.
  11. I am so pleased that apparently Jane did not like retirement! And, if you followed the trail of exit interviews at that time you would never in a million years think that this woman would be coming back!!! It is just our great good fortune that whatever was going on, it led her back to the studio, and miraculously Frankie has not managed to screw it up.
  12. Jason is far too old for Sasha!!! Better friends.
  13. He is a fan who frequents this topic. I did not realize you are new here. Welcome! You know, or maybe you don't, but anyway, at a certain period, he really built up his muscle content - and it looked VERY good on him. However, as people age & it's harder for them to keep up with those kinds of workouts, that muscle mass can turn to fat. That, his raping Marley, is in itself a huge controversy. NBC insisted that HW Donna Swajeski rewrite it so Jake raped Marley. It was her strongly held opinion that Never Under Any Circumstances would Jake rape Marley. (I am one of many fans who agree with her.) She & the network fought over this. Finally she lost the battle & had to do the rewrite. But, she decided then & there that when her contract came up she was quitting - and when it rolled around, she did quit. So, they lost a writer they liked. On ATWT I really liked him with Molly!
  14. Well, I persist in thinking that AJ would have had a world of trouble even if he had not met Carly, but the things you say are fair. And, I would note that this clip is stopped on Lila's face & Lila always was good to Carly. Now, I'm off to YouTube.
  15. In fact, I totally agree. At first when I saw where it seemed they were going, I admit I was not enthused. I figured in trying to quickly fashion an exit for Chad that they were about to create a gigantic problem. BUT NO! Actually, they've crafted an excellent batch of soapy messy goodness. I mean who knew they had this in them?
  16. Yesterday it made me mad that Tracy seemed to think that if not for her, meaning Carly, that AJ somehow would have been this upstanding citizen or some idiocy like that. AJ, in his essence was NOT in any way the fault of Carly. Let that sink in for a minute.
  17. Well, I am here to tell you that you better watch yourself, EFulton will take you to task & you better believe it! We are so awful, aren't we? To our beautiful people. NOT allowing them to change. Do you recall that DIGEST cover with him & Ellen & the only prop is a ladder.
  18. I saw that earlier this morning. Just sad.
  19. Well, I must say the tears in the eyes lately at least with both Carly & Jason have been very well received by me. Anna, however, has exceeded her lifetime quota. Finola is done & then some. Totally agree about Willow & her reaching what I call an introductory level of self-awareness. I was shocked! I did not realize these writers could shock me. They get credit for that. As for the actress's abilities, I have a feeling she is up to a great deal more than they give her. Just a guess. The thing about Cameron Mathison is that prior pretty much everyone disliked him but tolerated him. NOW, of course, he is about 400% more interesting but still it's a love to hate thing. I'm not at all sure about his shelf life? Do we imagine that if we turned him over & looked at the back of his neck, there's a "SELL BY date?" I think so.
  20. Jane, Here's a pic for those of us "who don't care".
  21. WOW, thanks for that. Really well explained. I would add that there are fans who stubbornly think that Marcus Taggert is really Trina's father. We do not have a leg to stand on since the show is determined that canon is not that. We realize this. Like Tracy, we don't care.
