The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
A lot of people have been having that same feeling--Daryl seems like he doesn't have too much time left in him. As for killing the old guard, it better be inevitable. I don't know if most people watch for the zombies and to see people bitten, but any story is only as interesting as its characters, and if they start getting rid of the core people, there will be nothing left to draw in this viewer. Ultimately, I have to believe that it's who all this craziness happens to that attracts the viewers. I have a feeling they know that as well, that's why none of the really popular actors who are core have been killed/written off. I think he's too popular as well. But do you really think they would kill off Rick? (Unless it happens in the comics, in which case, I don't wanna know!) I don't know if I would count Shane, only because (other than the zombies) he was the main villain at that point and it felt like his story had really come to an end. I mean, there was no way to keep him around, unless he disappeared for a good long while and came back (which I presume Phillip will do at some point).

Thank God! You've made me very happy. I loved what I saw of Carl/Michonne. R.I.H. Agreed--I thought it was a perfect balance between action, character moments and catching up with all the changes. All wrapped in wonderful tension and a great cliffhanger.

The only thing I'm praying doesn't happen is Daryl/Beth. Their scene was sweet, but I hope it's not the beginning of a relationship. I guess they could always write it well, but the idea kind of made me barf.

I loved the premiere. So many changes, new faces, new relationships. It was really great.I liked Beth more than I ever have. Tyreese was sweet. Glenn and Maggie are the romantic heart of this show. I loved Rick farming and being mentored by Hershel. Rick and Michonne clearly care for one another... I really hope they get together at some moment. Carol called Daryl "pookie." My black heart just melted at that. The stuff with Rick and the crazy lady was SO tense. You could sense something was off, but not exactly sure... The Walkers falling through the roof was an amazing action scene. Probably one of their best ever. And that ending! That was scary as fu.ck. This is a bigger threat than ever.

Wonderful. Loving the slower, more measured pace. They seem to be doing... something with Nolan and Patrick. Would love to see them as a couple. Bitchery between Victoria and Emily is always amazing. And, although somewhat predictable, it's nice to see that Aidan and Emily are working together. I wonder if Conrad crashed the car on purpose.

Nolan is back to being gay! I love that he called his relationship with Padma, PTSD. I am loving this harder edge Charlotte has. Her acting has also improved. Laughed at Victoria and Conrad arguing about what to sell to make it through the month. I wish I was poor in the way they are. lol Margaux is a Ho! It even rhymes. After that dinner with the family, I felt really bad for Patrick. They all freaking hate his guts. I loved him giving it back to Daniel. But then he turned around and was such a bitch to Emily. And how lovely that Emily was confronted by both Jack and Nolan about the innocent her revenge is affecting. So sad when she realized her mistake about the priest. It was a nice twist that she could possibly use him to get Conrad to confess. What I love most is that the show finally has a sense of direction. The biggest problem with Season 2, apart of its boringness, was that it felt aimless, like it was just trying to drag things out. Now it feels like we could be drawing to a close by season's end, which is exciting.

Great season 2 finale. The season left me with a far better opinion than I would have ever expected. First third was horridly boring and then it became hit and miss until the lovely episode were Amanda died... after which it built steadily and returned to its old self more or less. Hoping for a much better Season 3, though.

The Masquerade episode was phenomenal. What a great example of stylized soap opera at its best. From the truly touching and emotional like Nolan's reaction to the news of Padma's death, to the opera in soap opera like Victoria thinking she saw her son, that music, her fainting and grabbing the red tablecloth... What a fantastic scene that was. Truly a classic.

Hahaha, I know, I jest. I definitely agree about BTW. I think I didn't mind it when it first came out but I can't even look at it anymore. Haven't seen that parody.

Dynasty Discussion Thread
I'm currently fighting to get through Season 5.... My God, the show is SO bad. It hasn't had a semblance of storyline logic/good writing since Season 3 (and that's being very generous). There's only been scenes, sparsely, that were good. The only exception is Blake and Krystle's deteriorating marriage. It's the only story that's allowed a small amount of subtlety and to be shown rather than told. Other than that, Collins is literally the only thing worth watching (and she's given some crappy stuff to work with).

Melrose Place
Rewatching MELROSE season 3. I always liked the D&D takeover story and I have a renewed appreciation for it--it was so well handled, considering this show never much cared to substantiate business stories. Bruce is SO obvious with his emotions and it's great to see a guilty Amanda. It all lays the groundwork for that lovely cliffhanger with Bruce that should be coming soon, and yet you can't predict it. The storyline involving Kimberly and Jo faking Jo's baby's death is so batshit crazy and, yet, since Kimberly is demented, it makes sense--she would totally come up with such a crazy idea. Kimberly breastfeeding Jo's baby must be one of the creepiest scenes I've ever seen and a huge MELROSE highlight. How lovely when Jo shows up and screeches when Kimberly pretends the baby is hers and tells her she will gladly prescribe her with medication for postpartum depression--during regular hours, of course. Classic stuff.

That does help! I liked the first two seasons but I would like the drama to be amped up a bit now lol

It's on Season 13?! Good, I only have 11 seasons to catch up on.

The Cher Thread
Anybody listened to Closer To The Truth yet? I loved it! It's not groundbreaking but the whole album went by before I even knew it and there were several songs that left me with orgasmic pleasure. "Take It Like A Man," "My Love," and Sirens particularly pleased me. I have no idea why "Sirens" isn't already a single, since it so resembles the folky songs so popular on radio now lol And it shows so well how that genre of music fits her still. "Lovers Forever" is like something straight out of the 80s. I was expecting more from the P!nk songs but they're still great (I Walk Alone with its tiny country influences and Lie To Me is a sweet ballad that has Cher saying "!@#$%^&*]") I am really excited and will be giving it several more spins lol

Yes. I love her but, really, a classy sense of style has never been her strong point. Sometimes I think she's one step away from trailer trash fashions, especially in her personal attire. You might be a bit too harsh lol

OMG, that was the LAST thing I expected from her... but it's fantastic. This will be played at the club NON-STOP.
