  1. Missing. She was never presumed dead. (They couldn't have both Kay AND Victor feared dead at the same time ) Esther was worried Kay was drinking again but both she & Nikki found out that she was OK and purposefully staying away. Jill was convinced Katherine was away due to some grand scheme of hers to drive her crazy.
  2. It was Bell's decision. First half of the story was when Bell was HW, second half they co-HW & Alden finished it off. You can't say she had one of the best sets of teens in daytime and then claim she was horrible! She must have done something right. The fight for the Chancellor Mansion The Newman Takeover Mackenzie is Katherine's granddaughter Victor & Diane's divorce fight The custody case for Cassie Billy's return Tricia's descent into madness And that's just off the top of my head. Yep, she definitely had too many brilliant stories for that. I will never understand all the ragging on Alden. Alden had a co-HW by 2000 and somewhere around that time the conflicts with the executive producer might have started as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Trent Jones was promoted to smooth out any creative differences. That's exactly the thing -- it wasn't superior only in retrospect, it was still great on its own. Alden has always been punished by most for simply not being Bell, which is insane because, if they didn't follow who wrote what, I bet a lot wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. It makes even less sense now that we've seen what truly badly-written Y&R means & it confuses me how even in retrospect someone can't look back and see that Alden's Y&R (while not perfect) was great soap that continued the legacy of the show. When was Katherine presumed dead?
  3. Thanks! So interesting to read about the cast defection. Whenever this is referenced, it sounds as if Bell just decided to end the original families and do something new (to pair it with the expansion to an hour as well). Here, he says that the cast was leaving in droves and there was no choice. Hmmm. Interesting. It certainly benefited the show.
  4. Review of her Vegas residency: http://music-mix.ew.com/2013/12/28/britney-spears-las-vegas-review/
  5. This pretty much proves everything you're saying: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/12/27/britney-spears-documentary-ratings/ I didn't even know she had a documentary. Years ago (up until 2004 or so), I would have wet myself if I heard there would be a documentary. Now I'm not sure if I'm even going to bother watching (although I probably will).
  6. I just rewatched the episode where Billy & Mac meet for the first time (during a hilarious and heartbreaking scene) and I am swooning all over again, especially knowing what comes next. The beginning of one of the best sets of teens on daytime ever, without a doubt, as well as a great teenage love story.
  7. Did they really say that? I have no memory of this! Clearly this was a budget move, but such a stupid one.
  8. I really miss Cafe Rousse. Apparently people don't eat anymore. I don't even remember the last time that set was on.

  11. Quick teaser for 2014 starting at around 1.37 for all of HBO's shows. I just cannot wait. Obviously, even though we're talking about half-second scenes, mildly spoilery http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHWBZbi9vl8

  21. This is probably THE biggest pop music event of the year... and it happened through her keeping it a secret and not promoting it. Craziness! I really love all the songs and think it's a natural progression of 4, which I love. Pretty Hurts, Drunk In Love, XO, Heaven are just a few stand-outs but I'm sure there will be more once I get to listen more.
  22. Beyonce drops 5th album unannounced, basically breaks the Internet http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/the-juice/5827398/beyonce-unexpectedly-releases-new-self-titled-visual-album-on Not exactly a commercial but enjoyed it all. Haven't seen all of the videos but those that I saw were great.
