EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Wouldn't put it past them if DTC or someone in power didn't care for Norwood. Didn't they suspend him awhile back? Fatboy's death was unnecessary. He just serves as some plot point to further cause tension between Vincent/Ronnie and to somehow add Jack into the drama. I'm one of the few, who saw potential in Fatboy and I hate the ending he got. Once again, poor Dot will be grieving the loss of someone near and dear to her. Sucky part is that I feel that this is one of many deaths to come heading into 2016....

Well knowing DTC, Deano might die soon but I still hate that they made a rapist. They should've brought back Chelsea for him or focus on his ties to Shabnam instead of tossing him in Linda's drab ass orbit.

Matt Di Angelo claims that his stories on EE drain him from time to time: http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a778234/matt-di-angelo-im-feeling-drained-by-dramatic-eastenders-storylines/ Don't blame him. Doesn't help that his character has gotten nothing but doom and gloom since he's returned.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Finally got around to watching the Emmerdale X-Mas special and I was touched. Definitely the best out of the UK soaps hands down. So character driven and emotional and all fronts. The star of the night was Chris Chittell. I hate how this man has not and will not get the recognition he deserves. I love my boo, Michael Parr, but Mr. Chittell is clearly the star of the show this past year. I love how it took Diane to start singing for Eric the Scrooge to break down his defenses and finally let them in. That's what a Christmas episode is all about--emotion and the human spirit. I don't care for Zak/Joanie's affair but there's worse on the air at the moment. I can at least somewhat understand Zak wanting to stray. Plus, it allows Jane Cox and Steve Halliwell the chance to be in the forefront again.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
This is the worst Christmas episode of EE ever. I've never seen so many characters regress and be destroyed beyond repair in one episode. Ian, Kathy, and Jane willing to lie and carry one when they thought that Bobby might've harmed Denny was gross. IDC how much a parent loves their child, a sane parent would've nipped this in the bud long ago. Kathy, being a upright character in the past, allowing this mess to go down is gross. So OOC for her. I get Ian has always been a weasel but even he had boundaries. What makes this story so gross is that Ian tried turning in one child for his heinous act (Steven) but doesn't wanna do the same for Bobby. Hell, they were grossed out by Ben and his acts but this story takes the cake and destroys them beyond repair. Just gross. What's even more gross is that Jane was the main one, who demonized and called out others horrid acts but can't see Bobby has done the exact same if not worse. Just watching these two makes me wanna vomit. The Beales have officially been decimated to nothingness. Stacey/Kush/Martin/Shabnam is ridiculous. Stacey is once again reduced to being the slut of the Square but when the truth comes out, everyone but Stacey will be scolded, tarred, and feathered; meanwhile, Stacey will continue to be made the martyr that she is. I hate how DTC has made Sharon into some limp noodle for Phil and Ian. Sharon would've never allowed Bobby to go on this long and would've told the police by now. Especially, since Bobby is in close interaction with her own child. DTC has no direction for Sharon whatsoever and it shows. She's a former shell of the feisty Sharon we used to love. Ronnie being responsible for someone's murder (again) is ridiculous. Sad part is that we all know that she won't get punished in the long-term and will continue on with her heinous acts. It was obvious that Vincent wasn't in the trunk. It's Fatboy. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out seeing as Ricky Norwood's last day of shoot was yesterday's episode and the character was heavily involved in this story. I can plot this story a mile away that Jack will figure out what Ronnie did and will be conflicted between keeping his dear love, Ronnie's secret or telling Dot the truth. Of course, he'll pick Ronnie and put the blame on Vincent. This'll be DTC's big plot for next Christmas--everyone comes after big, bad Vincent. @BetterForgotten, you are right that this show is too heavily filled with murderers and thugs. The Carters were effing boring and I felt no warmth to them at all. I don't care about Linda and Mick renewing their vows as it'll mean nothing in a few days. It's already been let out the bag that Mick and Whitney kiss, which we all know will lead to another affair on the Square. Last but not least, Phil. He is yet another character that won't pay for his sins. He'll get off scots-free even though he's possibly killed a child. Sharon will break up with him, he will wallow for awhile, but we get rewarded with the 'love' of Kathy. That's another plot I can see a mile away. Phil is like EE's version of Nikki Newman. He kills and injures who he wants, never pays for his actions, and 'numbs' his pain in the bottle for the 100th time. It's tired and old. I'm over Phil and his addiction stories. What would be epic is if his ass dropped dead from cirrhosis. This show is becoming so unrecognizable that it's sad. I don't see how it is getting all this recognition and praise. EE is nothing more than a stunt show. Each story delivers nothing until the climax with a stunt and denouement flatlines too.

I wouldn't've minded Lea even though I couldn't stand her on RHOM at times. She did however know how to stir the pot. I would've minded Joanna of RHOM to join but then I'd still need Brandi on the cast so Joanna can eat her alive. I think we just needed THREE new housewives this season. Yolanda shouldn't've returned while still ill or whatever she is. I'm over stories involving sickness more than I am over singing housewives. OC killed me with the sick stories last season.

It's really time for DTC to go, I don't understand why type of power he has over at the BBC and why it's warranted. Exactly. You still have capable writers like Tony Jordan, John Yorke, etc. I'd be begging and pleading for one of them to come back. DTC just ain't cutting it and this return is gonna make me hurl and hate EE even more even though I once liked the character who returned.

Taylor simply tossed out the bait and Rinna's dumb ass simply took it and ran with it; however, Yolanda's whole 'illness' is sketchy as f-ck. She should've taken the advice of many fans and either taken the season off or asked for a reduced role because it isn't panning in her favor. Instead, a large portion of the audience are siding with Rinna, LVP, and Kyle as to being skeptical about the severity of her illness. Many women I've seen online have even said that Yolanda might simply be suffering from menopause, which has many of the same symptoms as Lyme Disease. I am still not here for Erika. She's seems like a less trashier version of Brandi but time will tell. I see her allowing this show to get in her head along with her newfound friend, Brandi, thus causing her to end up being like Carlton, Joyce, Claudia, Amber, etc.--a one season housewife. She has it written all over her. Plus, I don't give a damn about her music career. I'm tired of Bravo bringing on women with musical aspirations. It's tiring and it pans out to nothing. I blame Kandi for starting this trend when she tried helping Kim's chain-smoking ass back in s2 of RHOA. She provided false hope to all these broads that all they need is autotune and some money and they can be singers. I would've preferred Camille or even Taylor's messy ass to be back on the show full-time.

Phaedra assumed that using a sensitive topic like BLM against Kenya would surely put Kenya in the hot seat again but it backfired. She did nothing but drive fans in Kenya's corner. F-cking dolt. She is so damn stupid.

That's absurd. Michael Malone is full of sh-t for saying that. How was she 'too old' to come back when Iris and Rachel were the same age? Plus, there were still tons of characters in that age group still on the canvas. Rachel, Carl, Cass, Felicia, Michael, Donna, Sharlene (to a lesser extent).... Iris would've still fit well onto the canvas. As long as Rachel and one of her rivaling sisters (typically, Paulina, who was on the show in a dud story) was there, Iris would've had tons to do. Iris never really needed a viable male interest b/c she was better on her own and causing ruckus at Cory Publishing. But seeing as Cory Publishing was basically factored out the show come 96/97, I guess I would make sense not to bring her back.... That aside, I can't believe I didn't remember Marshall being more prominent on the show and his romance with Felicia. Sucks his romance w/ Felicia would be scrapped thanks to racist idiots not being able to handle an interracial relationship. Most of those characters were also being phased out by the time of the interview (1997). I think P&G or NBC had a "younger" mandate. Even in 1998 Cory Publishing was a part of the story (brought back for Carl's exit), so the potential was there. They really did treat Marshall poorly. Poor Randy Brooks. They sure did. From watching these clips, it reminded me what little I remember of Felicia/Marshall, but I enjoyed them. Linda and Randy truly had chemistry. Yeah but the people they brought on exchange for Carmen Duncan (Gibbs, Barbara, Bolger) we could've did w/o. Yeah, I liked Gabe and Gary but I could've did w/o them over Iris. (re: Marshall/Felicia) They might as well committed to it. OLTL, which aired in many markets opposite AW at the time, had Hank/Nora, who were exes but still interacted and had chemistry. They might as well had pulled the trigger. I thought it was compelling to see Felicia fall for her boss and someone who was pushing in her writing career. Marshall also meshed in well with the Frankie/Cass/Felicia faction. More clips (SN: I hate how they made Grant go from being the manipulative, playboy politician to a megalomaniac. Having him kill Ryan set all that into motion):

BlackLivesMatter had nothing to do with last night's incident. Clearly, you are sipping from the same crazy well as Phaedra, Porsha, Shamea, Sheree, and Kim. It's the coddling and turn a blind eye to nuts like Glen Rice Jr., which breeds psychopaths. Kenya is messy and as a fan of hers, I'll always admit that; however, she was on point last night. The venom that she is getting from a select few is appalling. Did you not watch how he came at Kandi out of nowhere? How he call all the women b-tches and wh-res and threatened to 'f-ck them up?' Kenya haters will allow their hatred to steer them into stupidity before admitting that just once, she was right! And I don't think she overreacting at all. Not when he was shooting up gangs signs (gangster disciples signs to be exact) at her. If he's part of gang then he isn't above doing anything violent to anyone.- Another World Discussion Thread
