Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'll wait to the reunion to see where allegiance lies. B/c unlike most women, Kenya and somewhat Sheree will take what was said in talking heads in stride and ignore it. They are willing to move on; however, Nene and Cynthia won't despite it being filmed months ago. Those two stay stuck in time. Especially, Nene.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Even Lisa Whelchel, who really made herself look bad with some of the stuff she said about parenting, managed to have a respectable run on Survivor, and used it to help her career (motivational speaking). I have no idea what Kim will get out of this. She disappoints me because I grew up watching her and now I see this weak, confused woman on my TV, and it's sad. She may "win" against Kenya, but it's a loss in the long run. But hey, it pays the bills, so good for her. I just can't chalk it off as a moral victory. But that's JMO. So true. If she does gain a victory over Kenya, it'll be hollow. By then, everything about her will be decimated to nothingness. People who go on reality TV are those who have nothing to lose. Kim has everything to lose and nothing to gain other than the money Bravo is tossing her. Plus, Kim's reaction from the audience isn't that stellar. Yeah, most who hate Kenya root for her on that aspect but that aside, those same people want her gone b/c she brings nothing to the show. Again, I don't condone what Kenya is doing, but Kenya is making her work for that money. That's one things I can say about Kenya. Ain't nobody about to sit on this show and collect a check by doing nothing. You're gonna have to contribute to drama in some way and Kenya is ensuring she does even if she has to make a go at her.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
^ Exactly. None of these women have class and sadly everything is all game in the genre. I've said it from the start that Kim is gonna regret doing this show b/c her whole life is gonna be unearthed thread by thread. Can't really blame Kenya. That is the game.

Makes sense now that you've explained it. That could've been it. I just find the actor's choice or the writing to be weird. He is like a pervert. Like the scene when Dee first meets Brad and he's staring at her in her robe like she's a piece of meat. So gross. Maybe it was acceptable behavior then (IDK I wasn't born yet) but today, his behavior would've been met with some screaming and running. I'm glad to know that he only lasted one year on the show and was quickly forgotten.

I did get around to watching the 1980 episode too. I am gonna comment on it a little on today. I also noticed the partial episode with Kirk and Frannie that you posted from 1983 too. I'm subscribed to your channel. They might've given some of Margo's material to Cricket. From reading recaps as of late, Cricket's story does go dead within the next years with the exception of the Cody fling. She becomes more of a 'talk to' while Margo goes on to have all the fun and scandal with James and John.

Yes. The soap magazines I had of that time (not a lot admittedly) mentioned Eileen being very sick (I think with hepatitis) but never said whether Lisa was written out or recast. I guess she was recast. Betsy seems a lot more like Lisa here than I remember her seeming in the bits of 83-84 I've seen - I guess it's partly because she has a much better screen partner. I'm not sure I said it, but I can see it here. I wonder if they had any plans at this time to knock her up, or if that was later writers. Was it the strike writers? What surprises me is this character hung around for over 3 years, even if she all but ceased to exist after she left. I hope you get to watch the 1972 episode soon. Yes. I remember you saying how you didn't care for the actor that played Whit McColl, who Betsy von Furstenberg had to act against a lot of her stint. I still upset that they didn't reach out and try and bring James Douglas back to reprise his role as Grant and reunite him with Lisa even if it was the last episode. With Cricket, maybe future saw what fans saw and realized that she was worthless. I do wish that they would've brought the character back in some capacity around the time Bryant died onscreen. It would've been interesting to see Craig and Cricket clash seeing as Billy played a part in Bryant hopping into the car, which resulted in his death. I did watch the 1972 episode and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was good to finally see some footage from that time. I just wish more would come out. I enjoyed what was going on even though there were some tracking issues with the footage. The audio was good enough for me.

Kim Richard's ex-hubby, Monty, has passed: http://www.people.com/article/kim-richards-monty-brinson-dead As much as I don't care for Kim, I hope this does not force her to skid off her sobriety.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHOA was boring tonight. I'm not gonna even bother commenting on it. I don't applaud Kenya coming for Kim's marriage during Jamaica but let's be honest, production and Bravo are pushing this. It's obvious that there is some smoke and fire when it comes to Kim and her husband and Bravo is about to exploit it. All the skeletons are about to come flying out the closet (pun intended). It's obvious this was pushed seeing as everyone has been questioning Kim's hubby sexuality. At least the season will get back juicy again like it was during the Miami episodes. RHOP was OK. I am glad that Gizelle took on Charrisse and Karen, who both came off as b-tches. Regardless if Gizelle had help with the letter, she took the time out to do it. Handwritten at that, which means it was even more sincere. @frequentsoapfan, I am with you. Katie wants to be a white woman so badly, and her thirst (and fetishizing) for white men is becoming disturbing. I've noticed via Twitter too that people are starting to question her man's sexuality too. Regardless, it is obvious that he is not interested in her. I like Ashley but her youthfulness is gonna serve as a problem for these women. I am looking at her with raised eyebrow too b/c she is coming off as a 'sugar baby' to me. From the trailer, her man's sexuality is gonna be questioned in the season too. Dear God. Karen's husband Aunt Dot does not seem to like Karen if you ask me. She seemed distant and cold towards her. I get this feeling that Karen might pimp this woman to the audience as if she is the next Mama Elsa--the wise old sage that provides advice (or etiquette in her case) to the women.

I miss galas like this on soaps. All the current stories on the canvas all occurring in one event--under one umbrella. Everyone looking like a million bucks. Sadly, we'll never get this caliber of lavish look and storytelling again. Is Brad Hollister supposed to be the depiction of sexy/the hunk during this era? Because he's not. He translates like a creeper--real Ted Bundy-esqe. I don't get what Dee or Annie or any woman that fell under his spell saw in him. I get David and Ellen were helicopter parent but jeez they seem obnoxious. Even reading recaps as of late, I root for John over them despite his heinous actions. Dee is a grown ass woman. She does not need protecting. So funny seeing James and Babs in orbit of Cricket, who just got a call from Margo, knowing what'll occur once Margo assimilates into Oakdale. Is that Betsy Von Furstenburg playing Lisa? I thought she didn't step into the role until later years? Regardless, she is the perfect recast b/c she is playing Lisa exactly like Fulton. She eerily sounds like her too. @DRW50 didn't you say they tried making Cricket an Erica Kane carbon copy? If so, I see it. Especially, in this episode. She just drones on and on about wanting to be rich. I don't know what Eric saw in her with the exception of her looks and the fact she'd probably put out easily. She just seems hollow and lacks substance.

OMG! No!!! I hope they don't betray Nikhil b/c I actually love Nikhil and David's friendship, but knowing these writers, they'll go for the most dramatic route.

That's what I feel about Leyla and Nikhil too. She's trying to convince herself that she should like him, which I find crazy. I wouldn't have to convince myself to do so. I just would!

Degrassi: The Next Generation
I agree that it wasn't far-fetched, I just don't think it was properly developed. Perhaps it was a consequence of the short episode order, but it's one of the things that felt like a little too much a little too fast. That's why I wish the arcs were slower. I still really enjoyed the season but I wish they developed a lot of these arcs like a soap b/c they were phenomenal plots for a teen drama.

Degrassi: The Next Generation
Hunter has always given me vibes he had anger issues. Last season on Next Generation when Zoe took his computer and threatened to break it b/c she thought he was the one blackmailing the cheer squad over them selling their nudes for profit, he snapped. Plus with Frankie and Miles, who have both gone over the edge, it wasn't too farfetched for me to see Hunter go there too. It runs in the family DNA. All of the Hollingsworth kids are sociopaths.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Another good episode. Leyla and Nikhil were HOT. I hope she gave him the 'good good' b/c I know I would if I was in her position. Carly, Finn, and Tracey were a hoot. I enjoy this little trio together and hope it's something more we'll see in the future. Watching these three conspire together against Duncan, the van driver, was funny and makes me miss friendships on US soaps. Glad that UK soaps still explore genuine friendships w/o strings being attached. Proud of Robert sticking up for Aaron and confronting Gordon. It was cute to see him tell the nurse that Aaron was his beau too. I loved Robert before but I loving the direction he is taking as of late. I like that he has shades of grey to him like one of my favorite male soap characters, Roger Thorpe. He can be bad at times but underneath, he has goodness to him and he will protect those he loves.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
This episode was rather dull. Glad that they finally moved forward and admitted Stacey. Not shocked that Ryan has popped in to check on Lily, as I've always felt he'd return down the road. Paul was the only compelling thing going on tonight and I enjoyed him finally giving Ben an ultimatum. Hopefully, the writers will scrap the angst and put Ben with Paul.

That's what I got from it. I think he was just trying to pull at Chas' chain to rile her up, but also keep her off Aaron's track. at you saying Vanessa needs to take a long vacation.

Glad to see that they addressed Aaron being molested and his sexuality. I was about to be pissed and if they just left it hanging. Good decision for them to address that Aaron realized his sexuality existed before Gordon molested him. Oh I love how they are humanizing Robert again!!! Please, new regime, I beg you, don't revert him back!

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Adam is killing me. I hate seeing him suffer over the loss of that baby, but I commend the writers for playing the beats. It's so good. It was good to see Kirin try and bring Adam into the fold and now Adam be resistant. I think going from being a father to the surrogate uncle is hard for him. Victoria needs to give that man a baby! Fatherhood has truly changed Adam for the better. Ashley mistaking Debbie's cottage for his is heartbreaking. It's just a constant reminder that the clock is ticking down for his time on the show. Can't say it enough times that I am glad that Jacob is back. I've always loved his relationship with David; however, his presence makes me weep and long for Alicia. I so miss her/Natalie Anderson on the show. Robert and Aaron are love, but Aaron is so damn dumb. Why put yourself at risk by leaving the hospital? But I cannot get behind Gordon raping Aaron. I feel like the Conservatives are gonna take this and run with it. They'll once again correlate homosexuality and pedophilia. Really, Emmerdale? Someone help me make sense of this. Am I just overreacting? So glad that Victoria stuck up for Robert to Chas. Given Chas' history, she can't talk about Robert when she was with Carl, who has killed before, and Cameron, who was a homicidal maniac. Plus, she has

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Is Paul turning tricks? I am wondering because he went into the back alley with that man and then limping out in pain. It could've been just a simple hookup but a part of me does hope is a former (or current) hooker. It'd at least be interesting. I can't wait for Ben to dump Abby though b/c this relationship of their's is farce. Claudette and Patrick's sexual banter was a bit gross but at least they are doing something with Patrick. So over this Stacey breakdown story. It is making so many characters unlikeable as they allow this woman to walk around the Square like a deranged nut. Plus, I'd rather they get to the good story, which is Stacey's half-brother and her getting to know him. Glad she finally turned herself in. I wish Jean was here from the start. At least she's the only with brains to shout out that Stacey is having a breakdown.

In total viewers, but we all know that's not what networks care about. They care about women 18-49. That puts her debut episode somewhere in the middle.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Nene's return didn't really shift anything. She only brought back 239,000 viewers, which is nothing really. I thought the 'rich b*tch' would've at least brought the show 3.5-4.0 bracket and she didn't. Guess she isn't the draw she claims to be....

I'm growing tired of him too. I hate how after so little time on the show, he has so much influence and has been made the face of the show.
