Ugh! What?! Emmerdale surpassed EE in everything this past year. @DRW50 it's a video of Mike Parr thanking the fans for voting for Emmerdale in all categories.

I am glad that they are getting Kat right b/c they sure are f-cking up all the other characters. DTC is just trying to further make Shirley happen. He's forcibly trying to make her a centerpiece on this show as much as we don't like it.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Did my baby (Mike Parr) win anything @TimWil?! I agree about Charity and Cain. It's just a lazy pairing at this point. I mostly just want something fresh for Moira. Hell, maybe someone like Rakesh. The Dingles feel very depleted. Of the younger group only Aaron and Belle get stories, and they have run Aaron into the ground, while Belle can't really carry major material. I'm very wary of where they will take Charity, and Chas needs a lot of repair work. I like Sam, and Marlon, but they can't carry major story. If they want to keep the Dingles around that much I'd say it's time to recast Tina Dingle, and maybe give her a kid with Frank Tate. Of course I don't want a ton of new characters driving story, like on Hollyoaks or Eastenders, but I do understand they need some new blood. But it shouldn't be at the expense of the rich, underused B or C-players. I'd just rather the Dingles just go away. We don't need anymore. Sam is the only one I really like. Some are OK but I can do without many of them. I don't want new characters either. I'd rather them bring back establishing characters. I wish they'd bring back my Sadie. Oh how I miss her!

I am OK with Moira and Cain splitting as long as he is not tossed in the same orbit as Charity. The pairing needs to be remain dead. Never revived. Bad enough they are committing incest, which bothers me, but them being a toxic pairing makes it worse. I think we can assume the worst that the new EP will probably want to center the show around Ross and the Dingles. I feel like this generation of EPs care more about shock-value than compelling storytelling. Kate Oates provided a fine balance, hence why I like her.

I saw those photos and was quite impressed. I'd pay to see him and David make out too! But I've always wondered what Rik's sexual preference was anyways b/c there's nothing on him. *praying that he's gay*

Oh I hope they don't revert Robert back to being a monster. I am over it. I like this Robert. I am over unhinged Robert. He can be an occasional screwup but not some deranged maniac. Yes at we need more Nikhil butt shots. I just want full body shots with him. Rik Makaraem is so damn sexy.... Chas is wrapped up in Gordon, which is why I think she has not noticed Aaron being in pain. I think last night's episode was good.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
@DRW50, you will love this episode! Lots of sexy Nikhil! Lots of Robert! God bless us all! Oh sexy Nikhil! I love how he is still a timid mess when it comes to women. I find it so adorable. Leyla is an idiot if she does not jump on that! at Carly and David keeping all that free booze and it not working for Carly as the delivery boy wanted someone else. It's cute, lighthearted scenes like this that I enjoy and balance out the darkness in soaps. Not everything has to be dark and dreary. Good to see Jacob back too. I did notice the wheels turning when Leyla suggest Jacob stay with her. It's obvious that she now wants to step into her role as mother. I think it is a bit late for that Leyla.... Gordon and Chas are cute together, but I am not gonna invest too soon. The new regime might have their asses arguing in the near future. It was adorable to see Cain play big brother/protector before somewhat welcoming Gordon back into the fold. Not shocked that Marlon was tossed into Tess' orbit. Maybe it was me, but I got bunny boiler teas with Tess asking Marlon all those questions about Paddy and Rhona. She is gonna use that push her agenda and get Paddy. Something about her just came off as determined. Again, maybe it is me. Kirin.... I get he is young but I still cannot get over him being nasty to Adam. By him being nasty to Adam, it makes me dislike Kirin and not be upset with Rakesh anymore. I am glad that Vanessa squashed Kirin seeking revenge on his dad for now; however, I don't think Kirin is gonna let it go. I see him allow his vengeance to driving him to destruction. I can't take Aaron in his 'moods,' but his scenes with Robert were so good. For once, I bought their romance. Previously, I wasn't sold but I am now. Cute to see Robert actually be humanized again and show compassion for someone. I just hope that this doesn't go left with the upcoming regime.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
This was an extremely underwhelming sendoff for Charlie, and I didn't even really care for the character. I felt that today was all about everyone but him. Stacey continuing her descent into madness, which boggles my mind. Can't someone have her ass committed already? Why are they allowing her to walk around the Square a hot ass mess crying and shouting at every chance? Shirley crying to Buster about Phil annoyed the hell out of me. Who cares about Phil at this point? Just let him drop dead as I keep saying. Only highlight for me was Kat and Belinda mending fences. It truly would've been nice had the other Slater girls been there but whatever.

I'm hoping Kathryn's debut will shift things but it won't. While I am over this Lyme Disease sh-t, I am glad that Lisa busts Yolanda's story that Mohammed declared Bella and Anwar didn't have Lyme Disease.

I didn't mind Stacey break at the beginning, but yeah, why haven't they had her committed or checked out yet?

Charisse reminds me more of Sheree s1. I think she is just miserable because of her marriage but as soon as she fixes that, she might be more compelling. Karen is just a bitch for the camera. I see her softening up s2 as well. The fans are gonna let the air out of her inflated ego.

Oops. I must've missed that part with Chas taking Paddy's car. Makes sense. I get that Kirin is only 18 but still. He has to realize somewhat that Adam is hurting too and that Adam's presence won't lessen his in Johnny's life. A baby can never have too much love. Thanks for sharing that Adam has a Twitter now. I'll go and follow him. And Mike already climbs me all the time ... in my mind.

Thank you for highlighting that. That's why she's catching so much heat and I cannot connect with her. She's subtly putting down other men while putting her preference on a pedestal. As if white men are the end all, be all. It's so extra to the point it is fetishizing white men. She perpetuates the broken ideologies of the white patriarchy that still drive us all today. She the worst kind of interracial dater--the kind that rambles on and on about the racial difference between she and her beau and how great is. Basically, just doing it for attention.

Chas and Gordon are cute together. Glad to see Chas be happy again; however, I am trying to figure out how Aaron figured out where they were. I thought he was following Paddy? Paddy is becoming grosser as the days pass. I don't like how he's allowing Pearl to take flack when she's innocent and Paddy is the actual culprit as to why he and Rhona cannot adopt. He's such a weasel. I get why Aaron is mad at him, but Aaron cannot talk. He was humping Robert, who was married to Chrissie at the time, not too long ago.... Watching Adam deal with the loss of losing Johnny is painful. I am impressed that his feelings for the baby isn't dropped (like US soaps would do). He's still set in father mode and it's cute to see Victoria stick by him through it. I understand Kirin's apprehension and insecurity with losing his spot as Johnny's dad, but I felt he was such a d-ck by cutting Adam off. I don't see this going over well in the long haul.

Degrassi: The Next Generation
I didn't mind them focusing on Emma, Paige, & Manny b/c they were originals, but I didn't appreciate how newer characters came on (e.g. Mia) and dominating the show while she got left with scraps. That pissed me off.

I hope she is utilized better than Hazel and Liberty too. This show has not always treated black female characters the best. Typically, they are written as the best friend and I hate that. I loved Liberty, still can't believe it's been 9 years since JT died I loved Liberty too but they never gave her any good material until she got knocked up by JT and JT got killed. She was criminally underutilized.

You're probably absolutely right, I just noticed that was slightly different. The only thing I found a little odd was the mom's quote about open communication vs. Kenya saying the mom would never speak to her. Either way, I do feel sorry for Kenya having to feel that pain. I may not like her, but I wouldn't wish that kind of hurt on anyone. Whether she's fudging the details or not, the bottom line is that she has no relationship with her mother and that's obviously a source of pain on some level for her, and that sucks. I sincerely hope she finds peace in that regard and can learn to simply value the love she DID have and move on from the loss. I know that's way easier said than done, but I hope she can achieve that. At the end of the day, that's a lot to carry around. She did acknowledge on Twitter awhile ago that her mother did reach out to her after she won Miss. USA but claims she felt it was disingenuous and she didn't reply out of bitterness on her part, and rightfully so. Why would Kenya reach out to her when her mom is only doing it (at that time) b/c she was at an all time high and getting a lot of exposure? It is gonna be hard for her to find peace but it has to be done. I think I am sympathetic with her b/c her story is somewhat similar to mine. Instead, mine is neglect from my father, who'd pop in and out and constantly play the victim when I'd call him out on him being absentee. It's taken me a long time to let it go but I feel like I am almost there. It does also make me hesitant to start new relationships with people b/c I will always question if I can trust and depend on them. Childhood neglect is a bitch....

@Mr. Vixen But is there much of a difference in what she said (i.e. her parents giving her up)? She simply could've meant that her father wanted to give her up for the time being and got his mother to do so. Kenya's father has somewhat alluded that he didn't want to collect her until financially stable, which was when he moved the family to Texas.

Degrassi: The Next Generation
@All My Shadows Goldi is the Muslim girl, who is hardcore feminist. She's one character I cannot wait to see what they do with her. Her being Muslim and a feminist, two totally differently ideologies that clash, is gonna be interesting if done right. Lola is the one who was masturbating under the sheets and I cringed when that happened b/c it was like watching jailbait. Thank God, I felt relieved to know the actress is of age in real life but it still felt icky. That entire episode made me wanna gouge my eyes out. And I personally love Shay! She gives me Degrassi traditional lead ingenue vibes (i.e. Emma/Clare). She's smart, dorky but not too dorky, with a hinge of neurotic. I wanted to sock Lola for ruining the potential pairing that was Shay and Tiny; however, I think Shay has a potential suitor in her future, which I am all for (don't wanna spoil it if you haven't seen episode 10 yet).
