I hope it's true. IMO, Bravo needs to get behind all the housewife shows--international ones too. They need to show them when they originally air or a day or two after. Not six months ahead when most have watched & enjoyed them online.

See I forgot about this too. I do remember people on SOC (as I was posting a lot there during this time) moaning about Lyla being written like crap. It's obvious they did this to make the audience sympathetic to Katie, which didn't work. Most of us still hated her till the last day of the show. I knew I remember you expressing disdain for Rose before. I knew it was some other posters too.

The show was too gutless to risk casting an actor with an American accent. The flimsy reason given is that he went to a "British school" (which makes no sense as Michelle wouldn't have cared about that sort of thing) and he "adopted" a British accent to pick up girls. That also makes no sense, as most girls would see that as stupid and phony. It makes even less sense because ghoulish DTC decided to try to make him look like David Scarboro (RIP), Mark Fowler #1, and has instead made him look like he just got out of a gay porn parody called "T-Bird Tops." So he invented a fake posh accent while dressing like a middle-aged gay man's jerkoff fantasy? It makes no damn sense. Everything about this story has been awful, more than anything Sharon bleating on about how Grant can't know because he's a bad man (which also makes no sense as she was mooning over him not long ago and he hasn't done anything "bad" in over 15 years). And it's all about Phil. As everything is. It's not enough that he's "dying" and all the Ben drama. We get more contrived melodrama. It also makes me wonder if the "new Mitchell," is there to replace Jay, as I get the feeling the show would be fine with writing him out as he's not one of their little cadre. The show has been awful this week. I hate this story. Anytime someone tells you the Mitchells carry the show, just laugh. How stupid. If anything, he'd pick up more girls if he had an American accent b/c it's differ from the norm. Jesus. This is like Vicki all over again where EE fails to find a capable actor with an American accent. With all these out of work American actors over here, they could've found one easily. I didn't get the leather jacket either. So odd. I don't get Sharon now claiming Grant is bad now too. So sad how they've ruined EE's biggest secret with a sh-t story just so Phil can be front and center (as if he isn't already enough). The Mitchell clan stories sucks this year. Louise's return, Peggy's death, Phil's cirrhosis, Ronnie's stalking story, etc. They all just SUCK ass. I think the writing is on the wall for Jay too. It's been obvious for the longest that this show is eager to get rid of Jamie Borthwick, which is a shame if it comes to fruition.

That's what I remember--you saying you didn't care for MB's Lily. And I think it was @P.J. I remember declaring their hatred for Rose. It was someone else too. Was it Khan like I said before? Or was it someone else? Just thought sharing the debut episode of Rose would've been funny, as not too many people cared for her. Re-watching that episode, I do find it hard to believe that Lyla would've had Katie sleeping in some sh-tty hotels. I am pretty sure that Lyla had money stashed somewhere and Casey too. Plus, Margo was well off, Craig had tons of money, and Cricket/Ernie probably had money too. That was an odd line to me. I enjoyed seeing Curtis too and rethinking how stupid this show as to never bring back Sarah or Curtis alongside Allison, Casey, Luke, etc.

Bravo could learn a lot from the international shows but they don't. Andy practically said once that he doesn't watch international versions of the show b/c they aren't important. When the women of Melbourne were on WWHL (during s2 airing here), he had them standing behind the bar instead of in the seats. He ignored them the whole time. Melbourne s3 sh-ts on all the housewives season this past year, and they did it in 12 episodes. Their trip to Dubai surpassed the one Beverly Hills did, and they were filming the same time they were. I'm expecting Auckland to crap on the American versions too.

I didn't mind Jade. I think that Jade fit in perfectly and could've been the perfect vixen for Luke, Will, Allison, Casey, etc. bracket. The issue with her and all the other young adults during that time was that she was spread thin on the canvas. They did nothing with her outside of having her flirt with Will, talk to Luke, and have bitch sessions with Gwen or Maddie. We never saw any ambition with her. Her whole existence was based on getting Will and making Gwen miserable. A character like Jade should've been spread out all over the canvas. Seeing as she was a minx, I would've had either Lisa or Carly take her under her wing as they were previous Oakdale queens of chaos. I do agree with you that writers on soaps act like it is so hard to bring back a legacy character already in the show's canon. For instance, Hunter (Emily's egg baby) could've easily been one of Annie/Jeff's sons. He would've already been part of the Stewart clan and had ties to Emily and Allison. Hunter was not needed. Emily already had a son in Daniel, who could've provided her tons of story. Especially, seeing as she and Tom had a hard fought custody battle over him. Only time if I were to create a character would've been like a daughter for Sabrina or Frannie (preferably Sabrina as she was Kim & Bob's natural child), so the Hughes clan could have a young adult female lead the same age as Casey. I didn't care for Liberty too, but what pissed me off about her is that JP gave her ambition. She wanted to be a fashion designer, yet we never saw that with the other established characters on the canvas. Casey didn't decide he wanted to be a lawyer till the end of the show. We hardly ever saw Luke at WOAK. Allison, though a nurse, never had in a work related issues. All her stories consisted of her vagina getting her in trouble. Just a mess. I miss when young characters on soaps had more to offer than having sex and getting pregnant. I miss the ambition. I miss them mixing it up with older characters and building bonds. I miss that. That's what ATWT should've excelled at in the last decade as it did in previous regimes.

I've heard about those rumors (re: Kandi/Porsha) too, and if they are true, I find it utterly disgusting. Out of RHOA, I'd only want Porsha to go. I can't stand Phaedra but at least somewhat valuable. If anything, RHOA needs new blood, which I here they are getting this season. I hope RHOP brings it s2. It's gonna be hard with just those 5 women though. I think come season 3, they may need to add a more women b/c this cast is one of the tamer ones. They need some chaotic players in the mix.

That's what I am seeing a lot of with these episodes. It's starting to make me re-imagine where things went wrong and opportunities missed with the last decade of show. Oh, I've been imagining what went wrong since before the show even went off the air (LOL)! And ever since then I've been imagining how I'd re-write everything and fix it! Me too. I still don't get how this show tossed lively veteran characters like Kim, Bob, Lisa, Nancy, Emma, and Lucinda to the background. I would've had a field day with them. More than I would've younger characters. It boggles my mind how they phased John out too. They should've brought back MJ and Andy and recast Duke. He would've had all his kids (Margo, MJ, Duke, Andy, Dusty) on the canvas providing him tons of drama. Plus, I would've loved to have seen John interact with an older Parker and for them to form a bond as John once believed his was his son. I would've loved for MJ to pop up on the canvas and been an ambitious, smug, hot mess like his daddy was. MJ would've been the perfect rival for Casey too. That would've been interesting too seeing as MJ is Casey's uncle. Ugh! They tension between those two along with Margo and John being tossed in the middle would've been EPIC.

But hadn't Bryant been in Miami for awhile according to SOC's profile on him for awhile? Otherwise, I didn't mind him not being culturally awkward as I'd like to think Sierra and Craig did a lot of traveling stateside with them. I like Jake/Isaac to and I think they took to each other b/c they both street edge to them. I've been enjoying watching them too. Also, their scenes (along with Bob & Ben) have made me remember how much I miss stories at Oakdale Memorial. The set was so lush and spacious. It would become the size of a closet by the end of the show's run. I (too) would take this era over Passanante's reign too. While the stories were wild and wacky, at least they were interesting.

I've been watching the same episodes too. I totally forgot about Abigail and Bryant. Though I like Abigail, boy she was shrill early on. I get she was butt hurt over Molly/Chris, but she took things to the max. I can't believe either that Bryant would be killed off in about a year. One of the stupidest decisions EVER. I loved Todd Rotondi as Bryant. His death was the one that needed to be undid if anything, not James Stenbeck for the 100th time. I would've been totally OK with it. I never got why Denise felt the need to marry Andy. It just didn't make sense. These episodes have reminded how ATWT flopped in the final few years by not bringing back Andy or Hope. Especially, Hope who had ties to so many people on the canvas. I would've loved to see Hope & Faith been friends/rivals for Parker. That should've been the story instead of stupid a** Liberty. Ugh. I nearly cried in the episodes too b/c we got to see the Hughes kitchen. About 2-3 years later, Bob & Kim would be practically non-existent. Jake and Lucinda's friendship is pure gold. Jake fit so perfectly on the canvas as he had chemistry with everyone. Killing Jake, much like Bryant, was one of the biggest screw ups in the show's last decade.
