Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Oh wow. I didn't know so many past CS stars felt that way about gay characters. It truly isn't that serious. The show is supposed to be a reflection of life and a community. Do they seriously believe that a community is gonna have one or two gay people in it? Uh no. There's a plethora. Furthermore, it isn't like they have lead stories. Most of the time, Sean, Billy, Todd, Sophie, etc. are in the background.

So was Carlo enemies with the Buchanans before Vicki killed his son? Or did their rivalry stem from the past? I always found Carlo (from the years I watched OLTL) to be slapstick and not the least bit menacing.

@Mitch, I adore you but leave my Jordi Vilasuso and Paul Anthony Stewart alone! They were perfect eye candy for me around that time. I agree that Meta and Abuela Santos should've locked horns, but they stayed having Rick scold the Santos family instead of her. I don't think they ever did reveal their Hispanic background. I (personally) always assumed they were either Cuban or Puerto Rican. Carmen always trying to kill Michelle is what I felt made her a cartoon. I always felt that she should've found other ways to get rid of Michelle (like using Ben or Bill instead), and should've been in stories putting her against Springfield PD.

Married to Medicine
That's what I am assuming. I think this season might be one and done. It's been in the can forever. IDK why they didn't just pair it with RHONJ and aired it now. It could've been done by the time M2M (Atlanta) and RHOA came back.

If I didn't hate everything Santos before then (and I did), I hated everything Santos after then. The worst part was that Nancy St Alban had chemistry with both Daniel Cosgrove and Frank Dicopoulous, more than with whoever played Danny, so the Santos plague COULD HAVE faded just like San Cristobull but didn't. GRRRRRRR..... Y'all are gonna leave my Santos clan alone! I loved Danny and Tony. I do agree though I didn't like them shooting up the Bauer kitchen. That kitchen, that house was sacred ground and shouldn't've been disrespected like that. When it comes to NSA, I hated her as Michelle. She was too whiny for my taste and looked too old to play Michelle. I always wished they would've cast another actress in the role b/c NSA was not it. Who would you have picked to replace Bethany Lenz? Surprised GL didn't ask Rebecca Budig back, but that's a different story They couldn't've asked Rebecca back b/c she was fully committed to AMC by then. I would've cast a nobody with more charisma than NSA. Her Michelle was (again) too whiny for my taste. JBL was MY Michelle and she had spunk. That's why I fell in love with Manny b/c of the constant hot tension between the two. They'd be screaming at each other one second and sucking face the next. That pool scene in San Cristobal is still my favorite Manny scene. PAS was so damn hot... I do wish they would've asked JBL back as Michelle for the last few weeks of GL.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

What I like watching about SFT is that it is truly one of the last soaps to have pure, wholesome characters that weren't pious. They had their flaws, but they weren't preachy like most heroes and heroines in soaps are. Like all other P&G soaps, this show had that tight knit communal feel and a group of characters that loved each other even though they despised each other at times (i.e. Jo/Stephanie, Suzy/Wendy). IDK whether it is how MS interpret the scenes, but I agree, @DRW50, that most heroines would be screaming, erratic shrews, while it is so refreshing to see Jo be calm, collected, and trying to find the good in everyone. It's a shame that Mary Stuart never got an EMMY for her acting, but she's in a class of other great actresses that were never given one either even though she should've.- Married to Medicine
Married to Medicine Houston premieres Friday, Nov 11. Trailer: http://www.bravotv.com/married-to-medicine-houston/season-1/videos/on-season-1-of-married-to-medicine-houston Jesus. Bravo must not care for this show to stick it on a Friday. They should've slapped this show behind Vanderpump Rules or something. The ratings are gonna be in the dump.- Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
Yeah. I think in one of the show's final episodes on YT, Sunny reveals to Bela that she was pregnant. Do you think it was a rewrite? That Bela was originally meant to off Wendy but they changed it at the 11th hour b/c the character fit well on the canvas? Again, I'd kill to see the scene where Stephanie was killed and the reveal of the killer. From what I've seen of SFT (the 84-86 clips post on YT), I like the show and it'd be something I'd watch. It still had that wholesome, small town feel to it while it had some glamor via Stephanie, Liza, and Wendy. Peluso does come off as hammy, but do you think it may have to do with how actors/actresses were acting around that time? Being campy and bit over-the-top at times? While her reactions are funny at times, from what I've seen, I enjoyed Wendy. She isn't like the young ingenues we get now on soaps where I want the character to be killed off immediately b/c the actresses were incapable. It is good to see though that she got better on Loving as Ava and even better as Lila on Another World. From all that I've seen of SFT from this era, Cagney does suck up a lot of the airtime, but it does help that he has stellar chemistry with Terri Eoff (Suzy) along with interacting well with Mary Stuart and Larry Haines. The writers though could've cut back on the McClearys sucking up the show the last 2 years though. Quinn, Adair, and Hogan are all good characters, but it doesn't help when Jo's family is being killed off left and right, and Stu only had Liza on the canvas. From what I've seen too, the Kendalls sucked up a lot of airtime too. Feels like the producers were itching to get rid of Jo & Stu's family altogether. Bet money had the show lasted longer that would've sadly came to fruition.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Her scene of her holding Stan's spectacles after he passed is one of the most dramatic and heart wrenching scenes I've seen. It wasn't over the top and was just enough to drive the point home. I wish soaps would do that more nowadays when it comes to dramatic scenes.- The Politics Thread
I felt the same way BUT that was the beauty of it. NOBODY responded the way Trumpers do. Notice Obama only asked them to stop interrupting while Trump demands they be assaulted and thrown out. They crowd didn't lay a hand on the person or even grab their sign. They just held up their signs to cover his and chanted Hillary's name. No one is going to get to claim that the Trump protestor (who BTW was a person of color) got abused. Really? *sighs* I don't get how any minority can support him. Plz don't tell me he was Black...- The Politics Thread
Good. Glad to see Obama shot the heckler's ass down with the harsh truth. If you hate HRC so much then don't go to her rally. Go to a Trump rally. Me, being petty, would've snatched the heckler's ass up seeing as Trump constituents love to do it us. An eye for an eye.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread

Limbaugh is a monster, but of course he doesn't believe in consent. What woman in their right mind would give him consent to touch them? He looks like he has to force himself upon a poor, unwilling woman. Just disgusting.- The Politics Thread

re: Erika Slezak interview-- I am not surprised that Prospect Park didn't have any money and just spending frivolously. I wish that they would've brought up the Ellen Holly situation b/c I would've been interested to hear her situation on that. I know that EH said once she was mad that ES (or any of the actors) didn't speak on her behalf when Rauch came in and practically got rid of the Hall/Gray clan.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@Cat, I'm sorry but I don't (and won't) miss Lemonhead Hadid. She gave all she could give and should've been booted back when Brandi was. I am not worried about Lisa b/c even when she's not looking for drama, she gets dragged in. I like that Lisa Rinna/Erika/Eileen, much like Brandi & YoLyme, have a raging hard on to take the Queen down, so she'll never be out of the drama. Word is that new girl, Eden [Sassoon], is stirring the pot, so I doubt it'll be boring. I've heard rumblings that she isn't getting along with Rinna and Kyle. I don't blame LVP focusing on her charities. It's a safe bet for her. When sh-t goes down this upcoming season and people wanna point fingers, she can simply sit back and watch the women tear each other to shreds as her hands are clean. I feel like this season she has to play defense and can't be proactive b/c these women are itching to play her out her position.- Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
@DRW50 did you see the scene the poster just post of Wendy's exit? I saw someone asked him if he had Stephanie's death and sadly, he doesn't. Dammit! I wish those episodes will come up eventually. - All My Children Tribute Thread
