Days of Our Lives: February 2022 Discussion Thread
There was Yahoo and Webcrawler. I still can't believe CS was on the show that long. They wasted like 85 percent of his time.

Guiding light alum joins YR
Robert Newman looks great, but he looks better clean shaven imo. Makes him look quite a bit younger, but even back in the day, I liked it better.

All: character may be killed off
What's the matter? Don't you like watching RSW eat cereal with his hands?

All: character may be killed off
So when do Abby and Laura come back from the dead together as a package deal? Will they be revealed to have been held on an island by Gwen? Really, either of them staying dead would be trash.

AMC Vet Joins Days of Our Lives
Dang! I thought my memory was getting bad. Thanks.

AMC Vet Joins Days of Our Lives
I thought I even saw a picture. But, it may have been Aniston.

AMC Vet Joins Days of Our Lives
I just looked it up, and I couldn't find any info about Mascolo being on Days before he was Stefano. Was it just Aniston and I mixed them up?

AMC Vet Joins Days of Our Lives
Well, it worked for Joe Mascolo.

Days of Our Lives: January 2022 Discussion Thread
I wasn't regularly watching during the era, but I can picture smirking Will (before I knew he did it all the time) in EJ's office, and things getting pretty homoerotic between them. It would have worked a lot better than EJ and Abby.

Y&R January 2022 Discussion Thread
I'm still confused as to how they sped away so fast from SSM's "boring, nothing happens" version of the show yet have been firmly planted in this infinitely more dreadful zone for so long.

Y&R January 2022 Discussion Thread
old Y&R would have made Cait Fairbanks work.

Y&R: Actor Leaving
Jason Thompson would be good as a different, new character, but then they would still waste him.

DAYS: Makeup room photo chart reveals contract cast for some point in 2022
Sucks that it's a bland recast of Trask and not the original. Better than nothing, I suppose.

ALL: Couples you are surprised never reconciled for good
Buzz and Nadine were good. They screwed up so many things on that show in such a short amount of time.

Days of Our Lives: January 2022 Discussion Thread
Make it a little brighter and more yellow, and that's what the show looked like in the 2000s.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
Deidre's Hattie is terrible. She wasn't great in the '90s (she seemed excellent in the '70s/'80s bits and pieces I've seen), but it's like she doesn't even try anymore. She had some fire in 2008 but it didn't last.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
Disagree. She tried to play Belle "mature" 15 plus years ago, and it wasn't good then, either. We trade whiny and babyish for petulant and icy. It was no coincidence she went from fashion executive to attorney. BB has so much potential but he comes across like some ancient Greek statue recovered from ruins, covered in dust and ash. He would work as some type of stoic '80s anime character.

Ava would work best as someone who is devious and underhanded, but not crazy or ultra-dangerous.

Characters you were surprised to see again
I didn't really like any of those casting choices at the time. Maybe Bogue but then I recall growing to dislike him somewhat. Tognoni was way better on Y&R, imo. I think maybe I appreciated that they were trying to make her more than just the crazy, murderous version, but I just didn't enjoy her acting style. I was too young to appreciate the other Alan-Michaels but obviously that guy's version was completely different. I also didn't like Mandy Bruno, but that's another topic.. I had forgotten this, but it was kind of surprising to see Mascolo return to Days in 2006; I remember the feeling among some people after his 2001 departure was that he would never come back.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
I distinctly remember her personality changing immediately. My memory has her being underhanded and devious starting in 1996, long before the baby switch. Would be weird if she wasn't, because the distance between '96 and '00 was a lot for me at that age, and it always stuck with me.

Days of Our Lives: December 2021 Discussion Thread
Lani and Kristen as a couple would be the only way to make their history and friendship make sense. Lexie should have been recast. Renee was the Lexie, but it's not like there weren't a million Lexies before her. I'll never forget how contrived it was when she found out Stefano was her father and she turned bad practically overnight, though.

The Chandler Massey Lovefest
His beard needs to go, IMO. He suddenly looks 45.

Reilly on DAYS - a renewed appreciation
Reilly made all the good guys stupid and clueless during his original run... that being said, his show felt like an ensemble/family thing, not like 2003-2006 where it was like a bad-natured parody. I could have sworn Maison Blanche lasted longer than it did, but it felt involved and mysterious, not repetitive. I prefer '94 to '95. The big thing for me is the early/mid '90s love of gothic horror really allowed Days to do the possession. It couldn't have been done any other decade, IMO.

Man, they can still bring back WN as Roman. I can't believe they actually had him playing someone else.

Reilly on DAYS - a renewed appreciation
This has to be the worst thing Ron has done. Here I was, marveling at the great casting of Miller and McClain, noticing how they really do look like family with Jaime Lyn Bauer. I thought, man, they've really got it! And then it was over.
